nah, its got a 2" leveling kit and they clear just fine. they measure 34x11 and look pretty nice and run pretty good in the snow. got 30 inches of snow this past weekend and they plowed throught them just fine.

I would have paid the few $$$ more for BFG A/T. Much better tire and longer life than the Nitto. To each there own.

I just went from the bfg a/t to the trail grappler myself. This last set of bfgs didnt get quite the life they used to, and I like the added traction of the trail grappler. Like you said, to each their own.

Pretty sure the BFG's are less than the Nitto's. I would never buy another set of BFG A/T -or- A/T KO's myself... .02

^^^ why?
Actually when priced here in TX BFG are more expensive than the Nitto's. I think BFG makes all dealers sign a sales price contract that the tire (depending size/type) won't sell below the price set by BFG.
I've run them my brothers have run them all w/great luck and about 100k miles out of a set. I don't think it's just luck.

Really? Come on! Are you driving in a straight line everywhere you go? And on flat ground? Or maybe your talking about the BFG Rugged trails. Ive heard of guys getting close to 100K out their stockers.
I just took a set of BFG All-Terrains off my 98. They were 285/75/16s load D. I only got 25K miles out of them. I never did any burnouts, and never slid the truck around corners. I'll admit they are a great all around tire, just not the longest lasting.
Im not trying to start an argument, I just dont see how the BFG AT could EVER last 100k miles.

And btw, those Nittos look awesome! I hope they are a great tire for you! I want to get a set just cause they look so agressive! Look perfect for the snow.
Scott

Seriously, they both had 1500 4x4 trucks. First set of tires and almost 100k miles. One bro drove lots of hwy miles, kept them balanced and rotated, the other drove hwy also but a little more city driving and yes his wore out a little sooner. 65psi. Yes, I know 1/2 ton vs. 3/4 but still great tire life. No offense taken...just a comparison statement that's all.

Oh OK, 1/2 ton trucks! I bet a 1/2 ton would get a lot more miles from BFG ATs than a 3/4 ton truck.
Cheers!

Anyone have long term wear characteristice of the nitto's? My bro is looking at new tires and is between the terra grapplers and bfg a/t. He has BFG AT'S on there now but we dont know what the original mileage is on them. I bought them with about 50% tread and put 20k on them then my bro put another 15k on them and they are almost slicks. I've always had good experience with the wear on the BFG's.
