New Years Traditions?

Our family tradition is to cook sauerkraut and pork on New Year's day.

What do ya'll do for New Year's traditions?

We always set off fireworks and shoot the 12 gauge into the air to try and get the "New Year's Goose"

Watch out with them scatterguns. Last years my neighbor decided to get wasted and play around with his... Nice guy, not very smart when you get ~18 beers in him though.
He ended up peppering our barn door with buskshot. Moron...
Lucky he didn't hit the horse or I would've kicked his butt. Well, actually I wouldn't stand a chance so we would probably have just called the cops.

Yeah, we get a lot of guys around here that go out and shoot their scatterguns in the air, and sometimes they hit hit their house service and blow it apart, they usually get more fireworks than they wanted and no power for a while plus a big bill........so be careful what is overhead when you pull that trigger..........

FOOTBALL!

Being from Nebraska is hard to watch all the bowl games and no Huskers playing this year. 1st year with no bowl game in 45 years. Our new "wet toast" offense leaves alot to be desired.

We always have black-eyed peas and cabbage. The peas are supposed to bring good luck and the cabbage bring money. Hasn't worked yet but they sure are good!!

Black eye peas, Ham, spinach. Sister in laws family is from Arkansas they always do this. Seems to work OK. I am wondering about the cabbage instead of the spinach, that sounds better to me.
