so i'm wondering just little things i need to know. i'm gonna be looking for a 03-05 2500 ram, MANUAL for sure this time and i know there's two different versions of them, i think its the G56 and NV5600 if i'm wrong correct me. but i'm just wondering what to look for, i'm a huge diesel head but i don't follow the 3rd gen's close enough. so just fill me in guys!

The NV5600 seems to be the preferred manual trans but there has been a shortage of replacement parts for them for the past couple years because the company that made them went out of business (I think). The NV5600 was available through 05 and mid year 05 they switched to the G56 which has that stupid dual mass flywheel...
03 and early 04 trucks seem to get the best mileage of the 3rd gens but they make less stock power....
