Once again, we see a political thread take an ugly turn. Just remember, Mr. Smith, while you wallow in your victory, nearly 50% of Americans don't share your selection. This is indeed a country divided, and I seriously doubt the incumbent president will do anything to heal the rift.

As far as I read it the country isn't that divided. There were 5 NEW rep. senators elected and a margin on the popular vote of over 3 million so I on't think the country is divided as much as the news would like us to believe.
1. Total number of people voting was nothing special when we were repeatedly told a huge number were voting.
2. Youth vote stayed the same as last time although we were told many, many more would vote.
3. Bush did much better than the media predicted.

Come on now folks.
Let's not engage in "Piling On".
It was a close race and could easily have gone the other way.
I don't agree with Kerry's stand (on anything) but his supporters are still our friends, family members, and acquaintances.

Once again you miss the point. That statement had nothing to do with politics. That had to do with southern values. Down here we take morals and values seriously and don't appreciate statements like that.

I didn't miss the point, Barry. I didn't appreciate your insinuation that I, "up here", as well as the rest of the populace that voted for Kerry don't share your moral standards and values. Can you hear me now? Good!

Nice to see you back
I was worried about NC for a while. We stayed Red. whew..
I think the thought of Kerry getting in office really put the fire under some Republican rear ends to get out and vote. Lines where longer this election for sure. I don't mind that our Gov. Easley stayed. He seems to be doing his job. Good buy Edwards!
Don't let the door hit you where the good Lord split you.
Dems. don't feel so bad, you still got Ted Kennedy and Hillary.
A big thanks to S. Dakota voters! the obstructionist is gone.
