Hey Hoss...

Just think....After you shoot it, no need to get the cleaning kit out...Just toss it in the dishwasher with the rest of the Tupperware!!

BTW....What was the big "industry changing" thing that Glock was supposed to unveil at the SHOT show...Never heard more about it...

Oh yeah...NOVAK is the ONLY name in night sights!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice piece though.
I've never shot a Sig, but I've heard nothing but good things about them. Maybe I'll get one some day....maybe not.

My G22 has night sights. I'll get some for the new G17 as soon as I decide which ones I want.

You joke, but I spent an hour cleaning the new gun last night. My procedure??

Detail strip the gun, let all the pieces soak for 15-20 minutes in Simple Green, pull pieces out one by one and scrub with wife's toothbrush, rinse pieces over sink with hot water, blow dry pieces with compressed air, apply 5 drops of oil at select locations and put it all back together.

Not quite a dishwasher, but pretty close.

Absolutely nothing. Rumor has it that they had a .40 and/or 9mm carbine in the works, but they put it on the back burner in order to pursue making a new .45 for the U.S. military. That's just speculation though. Nobody knows for sure when/if a new product will come out or what it will be. Pretty disappointing really.

Congrats Hoss. The 17 was the first handgun I ever purchased but I am partial to my 19 but couldn't live without my S&W 44 mag snub.

Congrats again.

Bookmarked for later reference. I was kind of looking at the TRUGLO TFO sights. They are supposed to look the same regardless of light conditions. I'm also considering the Big Dot sights or the Heinie "Straight 8" sights.

One of our firearms instructors installed one of these sights on his personal Glock. I had a chance to check it out at the range last week, and have to say it is one of the nicest thingss I've seen. That front sight stood out like a cockroach on a wedding cake!

Cheap to shoot. That's the MAIN reason.

Other reasons:

1) My wife does not like to shoot my .40 caliber because it hurts her bad wrist. I'm hoping the significantly reduced recoil of the 9mm will encourage her to shoot more.

2) Cheap to shoot.

3) Cheap to shoot.

4) Cheap to shoot.

Did I mention that 9mm is cheap to shoot?

That is similar to the TRUGLO sights I'm considering, except they are both fiber optic AND tritium (meaning they'll glow during the day AND during the night).

I can imagine that a cockroach on a wedding cake would really stand out.
