My fav semi was and probably always will be a S&W 645..... carried one day/night for years and just got so used to it that it was an extension of my hand...

Now carry a Sig 226 .40 on duty and cant complain about it, I have issue with the location of the magazine release, my hand is sized just perfect for my thumb to rest right on it, but I realize that is just a personal " glitch" so to speak.

Accurate, light and reliable... SIG fits all three IMHO.........

11 yrs ago, my 226 probably had 35,000 rds through it, before it ever saw the light of day, much less weather. It's slid into home a couple times and been dropped on concrete, rained on, snowed on, splashed with roadsalt,... still fires like new.

i am pretty convinced that any well made firearm can withstand being dropped in mud or sand or snow or water and still fire a few rounds without failure as long as barrel is not obstructed...

I carried Beretta and Sig for part of my military career in every climate imaginable from Congo, Uganda, Colombia, Israel, Kuwait, Iraq, Norway, Poland, Korea, etc....never had a problem with any of the ones I carried and had maintained myself.

I will admit the Glock is a fine weapon...I dont like the feel of the two stage trigger...that is about only problem I have with it. Plus I just shoot the Sig better than anything else I own that does not come with a stock... I have confidence in any Sig P220, 229, 226 firearm.....and you got to go with what makes you feel safe and secure and is reliable. For me it is Sig...

Not so sure about that. The HK USP that he tested right along side the Glock in sand and dirt would not fire...but the Glock did.

See, I would have put it the other way around. Glocks are simple, reliable and they pack a lot of punch in a relatively small package....just like a good 6 cylinder Cummins engine. Sigs, on the other hand, are more complicated, more expensive, bulkier and more likely to react negatively to a little bit of neglect....just like a 6.0 PSD. But hey, when they ARE running they sure do run good.

Yeah, we've all seen the videos of the LEOs proving that the Glock will fire no matter what.......sometimes when you REALLY didn't want it to.

What about the Kimber Ultra Carry II 45ACP? I have a 1911 and the Kimber. Bought the Kimber because I liked the 3.5" barrel on a 45. Found out how NOT practical that was, but overall a very nice piece.

Kimber makes a great gun. That's another one that I'd like to have some day.

Congrats on the Sig, Monty. It's a gun you can pass down to your grandkids. Did you look at the 245 while you were at the gettin' place?

Sweeet!
I would only take an HK to sell it. The chambers are built way too loose. It is a bad feeling to have a round that will not extract. A friend had several casings split. Granted it was cheap ammo. But the reason for the loose chamber to cycle crap ammunition.
