New cell phone

Well, the old cell phone dropped its last call on me yesterday, I bought a LG VX8300 Vcast music phone, whatever that means. It seems to be pretty good, has a lot of stuff that I don't know how to use, I just wanted one that had good signal strength. Evidently you can download ringtones, the first thing I thought of was the CTD startup tone from the internet. Does anyone know how you get the tone from the net onto the phone, do you have to have a usb cable that fits the phone? The phone can download its own stuff from verizon wirelessly, was hoping that would work cause my usb cable won't fit the phone.

Now I'm taking suggestions on how to dispose of the old phone. Something dramatic, with sparks and/or flames would be nice. I have already choked it within an inch of its life several times, and flung it against the passenger window once. Now that it is retired, I'm thinking either launching it from the skeet thrower and shooting with the 10 gauge, hitting it with sledge hammer, simply giving it to the dog, throwing it through the wood chipper, etc.

I've got some really heavy turkey loads, #4's, for the 10 that should do the trick. But I was hoping to get some really creative ideas to ponder, before I simply go out and blast the phone. It has to pay for all the frustration and swearing it has induced.

I shot mine with a .17 HMR. Made a neat hole all the way through it and I was still able to put it on a shelf in my reloading room for a " conversation piece". I think I may do that to my RAZR phone also. I may have to start a collection.

If you have a good dog, I wouldn't give it to him. Might hurt the gums and other innards!

haha, could you see a dog with a working phone in his stomach, have the phone on vibrate and ring, and then call it. haha

I bet that would be hillarious..

Disclaimer: I do not approve of feeding cell phones to dogs, this was just something that went through my head when I read those two posts...

Having launched a cell phone from a skeet thrower I have a few tips.

1. They are light, might want to encase it in concrete first so it will actually fly.

2. If the meathod in #1 isn't viable, wrap with duct tape to prevent it from coming apart in the air (as stated above, they are light so it goes about 20 feet). Make sure you have a fast trigger finger or you will shoot it after it lands.

3. After applying meathods stated in 1&2, don't do this next to a busy street, cars don't like things flying at them randomly (I never said I had a good experience).

4. Sometimes if meathod 1 hasn't been applied phone will be thrown straight right(depending on which way the launcher is facing) instead of foward because it is too narrow for spring to hold so it kinda falls out FAST.

5. Don't listen to me.

My old roommate was't happy when he found his phone in pieces on our lawn.

A lot of the new phones have a record feature on them where you could just record the sound of your own truck and then save it as a ringtone........not that i have done that of course

Startup Ringtone

Here's the Cummins Startup Ringtone that I have. I made it from another file online to work on my phone.

Paste edit in your browser and it should open up in media player or something where you can use the SAVEAS command. Then you will have to get it to your phone. I use a USB bluetooth adapter.

Hope this is what you were looking for.
