Unhappy Need Your Help!!

Hi guys, this may seem trivial but my neighbours have lodged a complaint about the reverse beeper on my truck, how do I disconnect it, the vehicle is a 2001 with auto box. Then I can reverse without warning (not my idea, just want a quiet life).

Thanks Kurt

I have never heard of one of our trucks having one stock. Sounds like someone has added it. If you are not required by your laws to have one, I expect you could just disconnect it with no ill results. Most likely it is connected to the reverse lights or something just as simple.

Thanks Ed, I thought that they all had them, bloody annoying things. So you think it should be on the reverse light, hope it's not on the auto selecter or on the auto box, not very good with electrics. But thanks for the tip anyway.

Hi Kurt- take a look at the reverse lights- sometimes they just put in "beeper bulbs"- thingies that look like an adapter between the socket and the bulb that will beep.
If not, follow the cable from the reverse lights down- most beepers I saw got their juice directly from there and were connected with a scotchlock.

I think you need an air horn now to announce your arrival everytime you get home.

Or to warn when you're backing up.
