Alright yall. I've got a research paper to do and I need yall's help. The topic is hunting vs. anti-hunting. I've got far more support for hunting than I do anti-hunting and that's my problem. I can't find a good website/magazine that supports a good reason not to hunt. I have to have a counter arguement. If yall know of any sources (and I have to be able to cite them and do a works cited page on them), internet or what ever, please let me know. This is due monday and all I need is something to argue with. Thanks yall.

Dr.Evil, I do like to wait until the last minute. I've had this project all semester. And I don't know what your talking about when it comes to ted. My teacher hates PETA and doesn't want me using them as a resource. She thinks "there a bunch of crack heads".

Have you tried to contact the Texas Parks and Wildlife office here in Houston???? I just completed the hunter education safety course with my 13 yr old son, and there was a section in the class regarding respecting the rights of the anti-hunter portion of society. They may be able to lead you to a bevvy of sources regarding this manner....

Do a search on "friends of animals", I'm sure you will find plenty. They are a large group of anti's that are tying to shut down Arial wolf hunting up here. Sorry to say the judge ruled against them and permitted it. The gunners are waiting for good weather and they will go clear some of those pesky critters out. Now Friends of animals is doing a "BOYCOT" on Alaska for tourism, , I love it! Mean while the lady that runs the place is "spending" her money on "our" hotels, food, tax, travling. These people are moron's! ;D

OOOOOOOO, YOU BET YOUR BUTT THEY DO! They have been up here for a couple months now trying to get this "arial wolf hunting" stopped through the courts. God, her name is slipping my memory right now, but she is the founder of "friends of animals" based out of Conneticut (sp) .
They had a protest about three weeks ago up here, they had 3 or 4 huskies dressed up in hunter orange vest's and howlin like mad. ..... The area that they want to thin out the wolves has a population of around 1200, they are only talking about taking 45 wolves total! I mean come on, let it rest, the est. total population for alaska is around 12,000 wolves. We are thinking about crating up a few thousand and shipping them to Conneticut and let them deal with em' if they want to baby sit them that bad. She just left town a couple days ago and the paper stated today that they are planning 5 "howlings" (protest parties) in 5 major cities in the lower 48. "DON'T GO TO ALASKA, THEY KILL WOLVES!!!" ..

No offence to any of you on this board, but god I hope this boycot works! IMO, it will be nice not to have all the tourists running amuck up here for a change. Ahhhhhhh, peacefull rivers to fish and not motor homes doing 40mph in a 65mph zone. We don't tell any other states or unions how to run there buisness, so why do the 48's try to tell us how to run our state all the time ???.... It just kills me.

 

don't know if this will help but try in your search engine world wildlife fund, sierra club ,, lets see , also hunting ban , friends of animals , you will find all kinds of arguments against hunting

 

Big blue try the greenepeace site you ought to find plenty there, also some group in canada don't know the name but they are trying to get fishing banned because it hurt's the fish.

 

when you talk hunting, emotions start to crest over logic like a incoming Alaska tide..one thing most or all hunters do not agree with me on is this, Out in the land of natrual preditors , they do not cull out the biggest or best of brand x animal. where as the hunter seems to always have to take down the prime of the herd which is bacwards in the natural elemints of things.(Leaving a poor breeding stock situation)
