Need A Little Help With USB Hard Drive

I have an IBM djsa-210 drive out of an old Thinkpad. I have installed it in a USB case to use for file transfer between PC's.

It has been formatted into two partations, which I don't need or want. How can I go in and delete the partation and reformat it? I tried MaxBlast 4, but it wouldn't work on the IBM drive.

Thanks,

Go into Computer Management (while the drive is visible on your host system). This is: Right click My Computer and select Manage.

In here select Disk Management. You will see all drives/partitions on the system here.

Look for this drive in question, then the second partition of it - right click and delete it. It won't delete if it has a pagefile.sys. but you will see that if it does.

Now the first partition will be there and then an area of freespace.
Delete the first partition too. now it will all show free.

Create a new partition using the entire drive!

Thanks!

I was off doing just that while you were posting. I just happened to think of the Disk Management tools and tried it. It worked !

Thanks Again,

I forgot to add: There is still a 274mb, FAT, Healthy (EISA Configuration) on there that I can't access or get rid of...?

No biggie....a spare 9 GB storage ain't bad for a junk drive.

Convert drive to dynamic, then back to basic.

or download SPFDISK and boot from that.
