need help with a car loan.

so the company i work for cant pay me as of this week. they still owe me some money from privious weeks. not much but enough to make it so i can make the truck payment. this now means co sighnee is ****** and wants to sell my truck that i have work so hard to keep!

im looking to refinance it so i can get just me on the loan and off the buisness. as i am quitting as of tomarrow. i gave 10 years of my life to this company and now im seeing the end. guess going back to school is really an option now.

i looked online for some info but im weary on how this would work. anyone who could give me advice on what to look for what to stay away from. i have nbever refinanced a vehicle. never had to untill now.

i can say lowering my truck payment would be nice from 520$ a month but i have exactly 22 payments left and i am really bummed to extend the payments.

any and all help is appreciated and welcome

Bryan

The best piece of advice I can give you is don't quit your job until you refinance - - you will not get any financing without a job. And if you want to go back to school, it may be good to get those payments down a bit. Wow, that is a horrible payment to make every month. Have you tried your bank?

i liked my payments i wanted it paid off quikly! not a problem till now. I guess ill call again. the job thing is okay. i have one to start tomarrow and i can subcontract thru my current to be old job. im just sick of the politics involved with residentual construction. i prefered the commercial , when everything was decieded before. and changes are extra. i swear some people need to be smacked in the head to get them to shut up and quit whining. ( yes i had a 40 year old lady whining at me)

I Re-Fi'ed my truck with Costco via the internet.
They use Capital One.
I reduced my interest from 12-something % with Chrysler Financial , to ~4-1/2 %.
I saved about a hundred bucks a month, paid double payments and paid it off a year and a half earlier than if I had stayed with Chrysler.

it may be just me, but I would not sub-contract with a company that can not afford to pay me now...

Well, having been there I can certainly understand that. It was the "i prefered the commercial , when everything was decieded before. and changes are extra" that made me laugh.

We just guaranteed a maximum price on a $90M hotel off of drawings that were MAYBE 65% complete...MAYBE. How's that for "everything was decided before"? If it goes over it comes out of OUR pocket! And politics? Man...don't even get me started on the politics involved in ANY project funded by our tax dollars.

Sorry to get off topic.

So what's the situation?? Who is the other signer? If that's the case then if you really want to keep the truck, just come up with some money and get a loan for the remaining balance of the loan and pay them off. Then the truck is yours.......granted you may have to deal with paying on it a little longer, but it might bring your payments down....

Just a thought....

I did the Capitol One thing to finance my truck when they were operating as People First. Basically I filled out the application and how much I wanted to spend, and they sent me a check that could be written up to the amount I requested.

They have different rates for new or used, or refinance or private party used. It was pretty quick and easy.

If you have State Farm insurance, you might check into State Farm Bank. Some of their insurance agents sell their financing, and the last time I needed to finance a vehicle their rate was the best I could find.

If you are thinking about going back to school, though, that's a pretty big payment...

Hey, what Jeff said about State Farm is true. You do not have to have your ins. with them to get a loan, it may help because they know your payment history, however give them a try.

I was in the local office checking on some rental property ins when I saw the literature and asked the gal about an IRA thru "State Farm"? She began to tell me all they offered, including auto loans.

Two months later when I bought my Ram I called, filled out some info and had a loan in short order. Interest was less then the bank I have been dealing with for 36 years and have enough in one account to buy the truck! I was suprised!!

Give them a try. Just call your local St. Farm office. They need the year, amount, owners name, lein holder (if there is one), and eventually a copy of the title. I think that was all needed. They might just suprise you.

I only mentioned looking at them if you have State Farm insurance because at the time I last got a loan there I think they gave you like 1% lower rate for having their insurance, which was what put them over...

My agent didn't carry their financing, I presume because the volume wouldn't be high enough to justify the banking license, but another State Farm agent had a check in my hand promptly.
