Me too.... I am not real sure what they hope this will accomplish, frankly having my weapon concealed is a tactical advantage for me. I don't want everyone to know when and if I am carrying at the time.

I am 100% pro Second Amendment, I am just not convinced this is a good thing.

 

carrying open not only takes away the advantage of surprise, it also makes anti's a bit nervous about seeing a firearm.
I figure if no one sees my sidearm, no one thinks about it.

 

I carry open, concealed...don't matter in tn. 100 degrees hard to conceal a 45 with 4" barrel

 

shorts and a loose t-shirt conceals quite a bit.

 

Not a good idea. Something more for the libs to take away in the future. It'll make it even harder for those states that don't have conceal carry laws.

I'm also curious; what is the purpose of this? Just to show you can carry? Big deal. I, as others here I believe, would rather have a tactical advantage by being concealed. Not only that, you're putting yourself up there as a target when carrying open. Makes no sense to me but it's your decision.

With a good gun belt and a proper holster the only thing you need to conceal it is a loose fitting t-shirt. My Glock 17 conceals just fine in the summer.

 

I don't think its a big deal either way.

If someone wants to carry concealed, fine (I do).
If someone wants to carry open good for them. To each his own.

I have seen people carrying open but not often. I notice it, but it does not alarm me at all or put me on guard. The bad guys aren't the ones with licenses to carry.

It's probably meant more for the concealed-carry hold-out states of Wisconsin & Illinois.

Here in Wisconsin, it's technically legal to open-carry a handgun. However, when someone tries to actually do it they are promptly arrested for "Disorderly Conduct". Our state Governor makes sure that he is the only citizen to be protected by bodyguards with concealed firearms.
