the take HUGE cajones!!!! my dad works w/ a guy who owns a hyabusa (top speed upwards of 200mph) and does 90 mph stoppies! for those not in the know, a stoppie is where you lift the rear tire and ride only on the front.

Ive watched those races a few times on TV. They are insane. The sad part is that a lot of the shots in the first half of the video are in slow motion. They FLY threw town. They even have a side car race. THAT takes some Cajones to be the poor soul in the side car. It is not your average side car. It is just a flat platform straped to the side of a sport bike and the person has to move around to shift weight and hold on for dear life.

If you have the chance watch the actual race someday. Particulary the hacks,These guys are Insane. They used to run Hacks at Laguna Seca years ago in the opposite direction as the bikes. Most of the teams were from Australia and they run the other way. Fire away but comparing Nascar to motorcycle is an insult. IMHO Nascar is a joke anyhow, bunch of whiners.Put one of them snivvers in a ralley car and they would be upside down in a ditch in 5 minutes. Wonder if they get dizzy going in circles??
These dudes are the real deal. RIP Joey Dunlop, multi time Isle of Mann winner etc.

too bad Americans are so afraid of any risk. I would love to see a road race from the side of the road instead of behind three chain link fences, a concrete wall, and 75 feet of no mans land with another chain link fences and a screen incase something small gets past that distance.

Go to a Rally. Cars running 100 mph or more on dirt, and you stand within 5-10 feet of them. Sometimes behind thin plastic caution tape, sometimes not. I only got to see one in person (Maine Forrest Rally, about 30 minutes from my house), and it ROCKED. Anything that requires turns in either direction and long periods of driving is cool. If you want a great example of another type of Big Cajones racing, go rent (or better yet, buy) Dust to Glory.

Its a whole lot different seeing the pavement inches from you than sitting belted in inside a cage. Bikes are much more physically demanding. In some of the turns these guys are literally hanging off the side of their bikes just to maintain a more upright lean angle on the bike so they corner faster- they even wear armor for when they drag knee. Definately not for the faint of heart.

I wouldn't yak too loud about that.. Robbie Gordon (I think) was in the Dakar rally and did quite well..

Also Jeff Gordon ( Can't believe I typed that) switched cars with an F1 driver, after 3 laps he was making qualifying times.

You get in a stock car without all the bells and whistles and see how fast you can get to 200 mph between 2 cars.... They don't have all the technological advancement that all the other racers have.

I find bikes exciting, but thats just a suicide note on wheels. That was amazing video for sure..

Eh, not that big a deal, Valentino Rossi (Best motorcycle racer out there) got behind the wheel of a F1 and was turning 2 seconds off the track record by the 5 lap. Now that blows me away!

Good point.

The F1 driver in Jeffs NASCAR burned the front wheels off going into the turns and put it sideways coming out.. Too used to the computer using ABS and Traction control...
