I swear the people on rte 24 (my commute, 30 mi) have stocks in brake pads. One car length between cars is standard up to about 85 mph, so one person touching the pedal is a horrible chain reaction and ends up stopping traffic quickly. Last poorly timed snow storm several people stopped in the middle of the highway to clean off their wipers. 90% of people stop at onramps, either on the highway or on the ramp itself. I've found just going nice and easy in the right or middle lane gets me there just as quick, lowers my blood pressure, and gives some good entertainment.

I discussed my wave theory with the CHP back in 80-81 at a Trucker Appreciation weekend They had a booth set up and the subject came up about traffic stopping for no reason...I disagreed an said the reason had existed but it moved back up the road against the flow of traffic...it wasn't till overhead an sat pics proved me right
....

Purplezr2 you are so correct about the twin citys took me almost a hr to go to maple wood from eagan.Then on my return it only took like 20 mins
