not that I am aware of. you can buy adapters that will alow you to input a mp3 player to the unit.

I am sure you could figure out a way to buy an ipod cradle(or equivelent brand with a car cradle) and hard wire everthing to the truck and mount it permanatly. I put a aftermarket siruis radio in the brother in law's chevy. He did not want any adapters, attenna or harnesses visible. it had a craddle and I bough a PAC adapter than pluged into the changer port. then hard wired the 12v supply from the adpater. It turned out very nice. everthing is wired through the dash no visible wires and no power port connections of any kind.

I was hoping to just format all my CD's into MP3 format and play them in the existing player. I have thought about the XM or Sirus route, just I have all my CD's and want to stop swaping CD's during a long drive.

you could always go with an FM modulator that plugs directly into an iPod.they work very well unless you get within a 1/2 mile of a radio station transmitter that uses the same frequency which you are tuned to. I do this with mine and it works very well

My unit is rb4 model, so per my rb4 manual MP3 formats will not play at all. So I call the Chrysler hotline that a dealer gave me (800-922-1997) and they told me that even with a firmware upgrade I will not be able to play MP3's, but they did say that I get 1 firmware upgrade for free. Just a note the firmware upgrade should be new CD's.

well I looked for upgrades hacks firmware..... nothing will make that unit play mp3 format, thats a shame, I like my alpin deck alot for the mp3 capabilities, nothing like being able to rip almost 11 hours onto a single cd. Teamed up with software to record anything that comes across my sound card to mp3 format.
