Moving

Just got word that my offer on a house in Apache Junction AZ was accepted!!! My house here in Maryland settles next 8/30 and I settle on the house in AZ 9/13!

Have to start planning the trip across the country with 3 dogs and a cat. Anyone have experience with hotels that accept that many pets? Cat could stay in the truck i guess, the others are a Lab mix Shepard mix and a small toothless one...

here is the house we are buying

Have you been to Az lately? It's hot enough to cook eggs on the pavement. That is a very nice house...

How are you moving your belongings? I used ABF UPack... they dropped off a 26 foot semi trailer in my front yard, and they charge by the foot. It cost me right around 2k delivered in my front yard in about 5 days from SC...

Can't help you on the hotel. I left my cat in the truck, but that was in February... not sure I'd do it this time of year.

Yeah I know HOA sucks! but it felt like the right deal at the right time. I have been living in a fixer upper for years now and wanted something done. Plus with what I am making on my MD house I am paying cash. I still can cancel if I find something in the HOA that is too bad to deal with. Wanted a RV gate for my 18 foot car trailer, but I will figure it out.

Yeah Heat, I know, but the best thing is NO SNOW! hate that crap.

I am using "you pack it" 3 6x7x8 cubes will cost about 3k to move across Really don't have that much stuff, my exwife made sure of that... probably only use two, one for tools and one for my wifes stuff LOL.

We have always wanted to live in the south west, my wife grew up in Mass and lived in Alaska for 4 years, hates the cold now.

So we are two days into the trip and except for the rain EVERY morning for a couple hours... Dogs just sleep on the bed I made them in the extended cab and the cat is happy in his crate for the most part. Hotels have all been friendly and have had no issues with the animals.

We are in Alma Arkansas, stopping tomorrow in Santa Rosa NM, then on to our house in AZ by noon Friday. Any one want to come over and help move a couch, washer and dryer. Stuff should be there friday by 5...

In the past we stayed a Motel 6 as they are pet friendly. Suggest you call ahead.
Have a safe trip.

About 5 years ago the wifey and I were headed down to Alabama to see my sister and bro in law. We were traveling with our 200lbs English Mastiff and had planned on making it an easy 2 day trip. We stopped later that night at a Holiday Inn in which seemed to be the only hotel for miles. We asked if they were pet friendly and they said no. After some debate I decided the dog could sleep in the truck on the bed we made for her in the back seat. It was summer time so I intentionally left the truck running all night with high idle turned up to around 1,400 rpms and the a/c on. Needless to say after a few complaints of the loud truck the manager was more than willing to let the dog inside if we stayed another night..

That's awesome, thanks. I was not expecting anyone to offer help. I have a friend that is coming Friday and may bring help since he is a little older. Call me Friday night or Saturday morning. 443-866-1500. If I still need help that will be the only things I neef help with.

We are parked at a truck stop in Oklahoma editing out a nasty storm right now. Heading out again it gets light

I'll give you a call Friday night, if you need me, then I'll have to leave at 5 vice 6. I figure if you just need help with a few big things, we can knock it out in an hour...

PM me if you find out you don't need help.
