My buddy from college has a 91 Chevy 3/4 Ton 4WD. The odometer stopped in Fall of 2000 with 220,XXX miles. It is his daily driver and it is still going, Been to Jersy from Iowa twice, rolled once, bent frame and fixed twice, miscellanous dings and OOOHHHH $#@!s. Biggest replacement was a clutch. THe drivel train is original motor and 4 sp manual trans and transfer case. Many other replacement parts. It is still going...................barely. We suspect it has 350,000 miles, but who knows for sure. Mileage is 4- 10MPG depending on the day

When I traded my '90 F150 in on the '97 F250HD it had 490+-K on it. It had a 300 I6 and was ready to be rebuilt. I had the head and valvetrain sitting on the shelf in the shop, but I got the itch to have a brand new one. Big mistake!!! I miss that truck.

Best Engine Ever Built!!!

I have a 93 FORD F-150 with the 300 I-6 it has somewhere around 340,000 miles on it i rolled 300k 2 years ago coming home from va. pulling a 17ft. fishing boat. Shortly thereafter the **** speedometer cluster went out and after buying two used ones i now have only 156,000 showing i am guessing that it has around the mileage first listed but would love if someone could tell how to pull the actual out of the comp. It has been and always will be the best truck i have ever owned. also have a 85' f-150 4x4 300 I-6 with who knows how many miles on it. still runs great!!! only paid 400 bucks for this one and bought it b/c i knew the engine would last forever. will try to get pics of all my trucks when i learn how to use the camera i recieved for a wedding present!!!

Dads old 3/4 ton

Chevy throttle body 350 engine, Light duty six lug truck 92 i think it was, was sold with 300K or so on the odo, original engine and clutch, and the old man that bought it STILL uses it as a work truck. I suspect its at 400K or so as we speak..

Grampas 93 F 250 with a 351 was just shy of 270K when he sold it...

I had a 1980 Chevy 1/2 ton with the good old 305 in it. 537,000 miles on it when I changed the motor out for a new one with a little more pep. The truck had been driven everyday of it's life before it was given to me.

Got to drive it 3 days when some dolt ran a stop sign and I center punched him in the door and totalled the truck.

Insurance was a little choked when I handed them $3000 worth of bills for the engine and accesories, etc on a $200 truck. I proved I put the money into and they did pay. I was going to buy it back but I had hit the guy hard enough, it ended up cracking the block.

That was a good old work truck, just get in and go.

I bought new, April 1978, Chevy 350, 4-sp, 4x4, 3/4-ton.

It is out in the yard, hooked to a 20' stock trailer, with almost 500,000 on the original engine.

No truck, no-where, has been treated worse, nor used rougher.

It has been a sled-puller, rock-crawler, mud-slinger, log skidder, calf-puller, dead cow dragger, been in many bumper-to-bumper tug-of-wars, and the hardest of all = custom livestock hauler.

Looking for a 1st Gen. Cummins to drop in her.

No more gas-burners for me.

My dad has bought several Cheby 454s with 150,000 miles on them and runs them at least that long. Had one with a super moded 454, (we're talking hemi heads and looked like a race car engine, which to a point was, it served as a race car hauler at one point before he got it, thats who put the mods on it) the guy who had it before used it to haul his daughter to high school rodeos and pulled the cable on it to stop reading on the ode for what he thought had to be 150,000 extra miles, and dad sold that truck at 350,000.

There is a Chevy Astro van with a 4.3 that comes in for service by us with over 950,000 on it. We replaced the heads at about 600k and he has had the tranny rebuilt twice. He uses Amsoil synthetic fluids all around. Oil changes every 25k, and tranny flush every 100k. It is really rusted out, doesn't run real good, rear-end whines when going down the road, but he still uses it to drive all over the country to do insurance claims.

368k on a volvo 122s. Would have gone many more miles but the darn o-ring that seals the oil pump pickup tube went south and started sucking air. Got a rod knock. :0(

My 79 F-150 I beleive was pushing 600 000 KM. It had a 351m and when I replaced it I found out one of the heads was cracked. And I assume it was for a LONG time. Back in the 80's my granfather used to run the cold anti-freeze of heavy machernery throught the hot block of the truck......ouch.
