Mexico living
Just for fun thought I would share one aspect of what it is like to live in Mexico. I have been contentedly retired in central Mexico since 2000 and know of no better country to live in. Sure, it is not perfect, but is there such a thing as a perfect country? My wife and I live here on a fraction of what it would cost to live in the US or Canada. Plus our quality of life is probably better than most in Canada or the US.
It is clutch change time on my truck and although I have the knowledge and the tools to do the job, that transmission is just too heavy and as I do not have a tranni jack, am reluctantly farming the job out. Compared to the US, many shops here are what you would call hole in wall places and consequently you would not darken their doors. From experience these places do great work at cheap prices. Am taking my truck in on Monday to the same shop (a hole in the wall shop) that changed my clutch years ago. This shop is charging me the equivalent of US$125 total labor to do the job. I will supply a new South Bend clutch and flywheel. They do the job in one day. What would this job cost in the US or Canada?

Thanks Oliver for this info. So for about one hour of shop time in the US, down here I can get a new clutch installed. Cool. Sounds like the best deal to me.

Right. I am very blessed to enjoy this kind of lifestyle at such cheap prices with the bonus of gorgeous weather.
