Revisionist History:
1777 -- Washington to Lafayette: "Go home. We don't need you."
1778 -- Franklin to Louis XVI, in Paris: "I'm going home. We don't need your money, arms, advisors and troops."
1780 -- Washington to Rochambeau, at the seige lines outside of Yorktown: "Go home. Don't need you. Got Cornwallis licked."
1917 -- Clemenceau to John J. Pershing, CO-AEF, pointing westward across the docks of Cherbourg and the Atlantic, toward America: "Over there! Over there! Go back over there! Yes, you Yanks are going, you Yanks are going. . . back over there!"
1954 -- Navarre to Eisenhower, radio message from Dien Bien Phu: "Keep your troops at home, mon president. We don't need them."
