Memorial Day Slap to the USCG

Here in Brookings every Memorial Day weekend they hold a Azalea Festival. Well the weekend starts with a parade (Not called Memorial Day Parade ) well this year the USCG Color Guard was not front and center as it should always be it had to follow about 15 emergency vehicles. Since when is a parade not led by a color guard with our nations flag? Needles to say we Vets were steamed.

So how did your town Honor Our Fallen Heroes of the wars?

Sad that respect for the flag is not taught in this country any more. Sounds like a leftist plot to me.... You didn't see Herb around there laughing from the shadows did ya?

Friend of mine said there were a bunch of protestors outside Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio yesterday. Some were even carrying signs reading "Baby Bombers". Kinda makes you wonder how they were raised.

I wonder why they did that? Believe it or not, I’m with you. Doesn’t seem right. We didn't have a parade but we did have a big ceremony at War Memorial Stadium (fitting name huh?) honoring the military.

I grew up in a military family. My Great Grandfather (WWI), my Grandfather (WWII), and my Father (Vietnam) all served with distinction. I salute anyone who has served for our freedom.

Yeah... I'm with you. I don't get it. Maybe it won't happen next year. I'm sure if you guys have anything to do with it IT WON'T

Take care.

I think it's all the Kalifornians moving to Brookings that made the decision. My parents live just outside Brookings and I can't believe how much things have changed there in such a short time.

Our parades all are proceeded with the flag

(Although I don't think it's "official"; not military or anything, just a hottie on a horse with a flag...But the flag's still out front!)
