Members posting other sites

Over the months that Ive been a member to this site I do all my posting here

I still check the other sites for info and many times see the exact same post word for word posted at other sites....dont these members trust our advise ??....now before I get flamed too bad...I know they have the wright to post at other sites but at lease change some of the wording instead of doing a copy and paste

I guess I just feel its rude to members of this site to see multiple word for word posts on other sites....by our own membership > > > >

I do that frequently with my model train hobby. I frequent two model train forums, and if I have a question I will often post the same thing on both forums. It's not because I don't trust the advice of people on one forum...it's just because it allows me to get more feedback and get it faster. Copy and paste is a great feature that prevents me from having to type the whole thing over again.

Besides....what difference does it make?? You don't HAVE to read it twice just because someone posts it twice. Lighten up... :

Re:Members posting other sites

I personally don't mind either way. I think when guys do that, they're leveraging the knowledge and experience of 19000 members vs 4300. Makes a big difference in terms of how many responses you might get. As we grow, I think you'll see people do that less often. I don't think it happens often anyway to be honest.

Isn't the whole point of posting a question to gain more knowledge on the subject being asked about? If that is the case, then what's wrong with trying to gain a broader base of knowledge on a certain topic by posting on more than one site in an effort to, as you say, broaden knowledge? I think you've already answered your own question... :
