Goo Gone. Don't leave it sit too long though and dont buy the real strong goo gone. I recently used goo gone on a real thin rubber hose that had tape goop all over it. Worked great.

Nail polish remover. Gotta be the stuff with acetone. Of course plain acetone will work as well.

I wasn't sure what chemicals like acetone would do to the rubber ... that's why I went with something low volatile.

Kinda like when your kids get gum stuck in their hair .... oh sure, you could pour gasoline on it and light it on fire and the gum will let go real quick.... but rubbing peanut butter on the mess works too and doesn't send them to the hospital and you to jail .

*** If you had given the job to a fireman recruit, they would've just poured a bucket of steam on it to cook it off !!
