In the market for a new ATV
That is true...Ive been looking for more power, and think I just found a 430 big bore kit. You know anything about gettin more power outta the 350??
Buuuuttttt... If you love to tinker with stuff like that then a big bore kit is the way to go. I have always told myself that if I ever blow up the warrior I am putting in a street bike engine and make a sleeper sport quad killer. i would love to see the faces of people when a 91 warrior 350 goes screaming by them at the dunes like they are standing still.

Well, I will tell you that the big bore kits do add a bunch of power to them but at a cost. Reliabilty goes out the window. Plain and simple. If adding a pipe and rejetting it with a airbox mod does not add enough I would just step up to a YFZ-450. Eventually you will spend time and money to get there anyways. The 350 is a good bike and very reliable for an air cooled engine. You would be better off selling it and stepping into something new.

The RZR is faster (55 for the RZR; 40 for the Rhino), lighter, narrower, lower center of gravity, costs less, but doesnt have the ground clearance and has lost quit a bit of the utility that the Rhino has. It also has a rougher ride and doesnt have as much room inside as the Rhino. The Rhino is more the do-it-all side-by-side, whereas the RZR is more of a racer-type, if you know what I mean.
Well, Im going to get a 700R, but I really dont want to tradein the 350. Id like to mod it to atleast kinda keep up with the 700, but it does need to be reliable. The idea of an engine from a R6 or R1 would be cool, then your into extended swingarms and custom fabbing and what-not; right now my moneys going into the truck!
I was under the impression that the factory limits Rhinos to 40; do you have one of those modules that removes the limiter??

As I said in the other thread, if you're going for all out power and speed, get the new Arctic Cat ThunderCat 1000, it's the new speed and power king, of ALL current ATVs (that means sport quads, too, but handling is a different matter...). However, if you're going for off-roading capabilities, I'd say the Grizzly 700 is at the top of the list if you're not worried about going as fast as possible (it'll still be more power than you'll ever need).
No kidding, man. Smaller-engined ATVs are so underrated these days...
As for ANY AC factory machine I will gladly race one of those on the Shee... 348cc Twin Cylinder 2 stroke of raw power... mmmmm...

There is no connection nor comparison, I own one of each. The Raptor 350 is nothing more than a warrior with new plastics and shocks, as I stated before. It is a good reliable machine that s virtually unchanged since 1987ish. Just like Banshee's are virtually unchanged since 1989, except for joing from J-arm front ends to A-arm front ends. Too bad the EPA has to stick their nose in our fun. So long USA version of the Banshee.
As for ANY AC factory machine I will gladly race one of those on the Shee... 348cc Twin Cylinder 2 stroke of raw power... mmmmm...

There are a lot of people who convert their quads to street engine quads, or even a Crankenstein Banshee. Guy on my other forum built a Raptor CBR 600, that thing will haul, and it is up for sale right now. Crankenstien Banshee's, whether left 2 cylinder or built up to 3 cylinders. Stock banshee case, with Bombardier Rotax Top ends...all in all it's good fun.
The Raptor 700R's are real nice quads, they are quick, torque hogs and are good for pretty much any type of riding you want to do. Obviously it will have it's ups and down at certain times but nothing wrong with that. Whether Honda's 450ER or Yamaha's YFZ450, they are both made towards MX with basically the whole quad. The way your body hugs the seat/plastics to stay "glued" to the quad. To the chasis, suspension, handling aspect of it and the engine torque curve. They are good for trails, hill shooting, road running, whatever just like the Raptor, just the are made more for MX. The new rapy 350's are yea a new version of the Warrior, and they are nice little bikes. A less powerful Raptor pretty much. The Banshee, well yea hasn't changed since 87 other than j arms to a arms, the colour of the plastics, tail light to brake light and stock tires...but nothing wrong with 20 year old technology. In the US they are no longer being produced, however they are still being built up here, not sure what the difference but owell.
I too have a Banshee, sure it's somewhat fast when I want it to be and good for the things I do. I mostly ride roads and do hill climbing...so obviously this is how I set my Shee up. When I want it to, i'll have my shee doing 140km/h...right now I only have it going around 120 since i geared down and went smaller tires for the hills im climbing right now.
Most of it comes down to personal preference, and what type of riding you will do the most that the quad will most suite you with.

That's why I figured it might be the one you saw in that magazine, but apparently not. The guy say it'll reach around 150 mph, but I'd seriously doubt that, otherwise it'd be the record holder for fastest ATV, or close to it. As of recently, a highly modified sport quad with an addition rocket booster on the back has attained the record, not sure of the speed, though.
