Take a look around. We're headed the other way in this country. Won't be long and you'll be able to legally marry your goat.

Worse than that, they made it legal once.

I'm sick and excited. Sick cause I caught something (like usual!) and didn't want to stay in bed all stuffed up any longer and excited to be back home so I was up early to enjoy being home.

My own coffee pot, my own recliner, my own tv...ahhhhhhhh

Anyone know anything about equine joint supplements and if I can use them for my 90lb Labrador? Gluco/Chon/MSM supps are expensive! I figure the horse versions would be more cost effective for my horsy dog. I'm thinking of either

or these http://www.tractorsupply.com/dumor-r...15-lb--5065178

Shorts, I don't know anything specific about them but wouldn't the dosage for a horse be much larger than for a dog. The horse supplements might be way too strong. Sam's Club sells human joint supplements that may be better suited dosage wise.

I hear you about the pot and chair,(snicker) I miss home when I'm gone but I'm looking forward to leaving today. It's a bit crowded here right now.

Trad, yes, the horse dosage is considerably higher so the serving would need to be converted to an appropriate amount. Chester is needing 1500-1700mg/Gluc per day. I read the label on the Dumor brand and it has 5000mg/1 or 2oz scoop for a 1000lb horse.

Lots of dog owners use the stuff on the shelf for humans. There are some dog specific supps (chewy and tastes like chicken!). It seems supplements are fairly interchangeable. I've read of dog owners using the MSM powder supplement for horses on dogs with good results. When I went to look at that product I saw the full Gluc/Chon/MS supp right next to it and wondered if that would be the way to go instead.

Roger that. I just did a quick search and came up with a site that sells dog specific "Bonelets" that are pretty reasonable, if it's what you're looking for.

Thanks for the link. One of the things I like (and don't like) about Chester is he'll eat anything "Food? Someone say eat?"

Check out the second link, I posted it on edit. There's a little more info in it.

Justin, that front just swept up half the state. Went from CC to DFW yesterday - it was cold the entire way. I guess we just have to hang on for a day or two and we all hit the 70s and 80s as if it were spring

I found this little news story this morning. Besides the obvious jabs at Eric and Scott, the store is actually disturbing.

Morning all.

If bestiality lowers the molestation and rape percentages for kids and women I'm all for it..

Trad, I ended up ordering some HylaSport. I ran across it in the horse-dog cross-referencing.

http://www.pupsup.com/Canine-HylaSport.htm

Cosequin DS from what I read is the gold standard for supplements. The con is the price - very expensive. After reading on HylaSport, howit was developed, seeing he ingredients/amounts and the cost per servings/# of servings I decided to pull the trigger and see how it goes. Also comparing Hylasport to the Dumore horse supp, it is $5 more (shipped!) for the same 2lb supply but I feel better about it being dog specific = easy & peace of mind for servings and digestive system compatibility. I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes.

Evening all..

Probably not a good idea Short-one...
the way the supp's are prepared for a **** digestive system and the difference to a dogs might cause issues..
Ivermectin for example is used as a dewormer for both dogs and equines, but the prep for horses IN ADDITION to the dosage makes it fatal to dogs!
I'd stick to the doggie stuff ....
