LP safe for siphon?

I have my old LP sitting up and I was wandering if it would be safe to use it for a siphon? No I dont plan on stealing gas, but it would come in handy if I ever need it. I would just run wires with clips on the end and hook it on the battery. Any concerns?

I have been doing that for years , just use uncomin sence , keep the switch away from the fuel , diesel not as big a deal as gas.

Pump

I have used a electric lift pump to transfer fuel to and from a 55 gallon drum for years. Diesel is very safe.
Back in the late 70's during the big gas shortage (HA),
I worked with a guy who had the idea to syphon the gas out of his boat in the garage. Hey, that is a good idea..
But he was not to smart because he used his SHOP VAC
Tha gas vapor hit the motor and blew him out of the garage (removed his hair and eyebrows) , blew the roof off the garage and burned up his car.
It only took a few seconds to change his life.
BTW does this mean you would NOT consider stealing gas?

Ohh, "LP" means "lift pump"...

I figured you were trying to syphon "liquid propane"...
