Back in my day there were two hot chicks in school (you know, blue eyes, dark hair, etc.).
One gal's old man drove a lifted 7.3 liter Powerstroke with a bunch of stuff in it and straight pipe, and he had a window sticker with something like "you toucha dis machine I smasha yer face" on it.
The other gal's dad drove a Nissan that was stock, or almost so far out of tune it sounded almost like it was driven by an electric motor (
), and he had a bumper sticker that read "Save the Gay Whales", and the guy was a self-avowed pacifist. Guess who was easier game?

Britt, back to the cigar lounge....
A set of horns or a full bust hanging on the wall would be a good touch, and instead of the wool rug, add some testostereone to the room by making it a full cowide, deerhide or bearskin, either would accent the flooring, as would the wainscotting already mentioned. A Couple of antique shotguns woudl give an accent to the room and "match" the hide/horns..
A partition or bar to "isolate" the room would give it more of a "lounge" feel, as would some mahogany or teak book shelves.......Hemmingway style stuff.
talk to a local furniture manufactorer and get an enclosure or laminate for the keg-o-rator so it blends into the room. Perhaps a "wet-bar" style case that would hide the Stainless Steel, and have room for mugs and a few bottle of "harder" drink...
adn 100% on this one, loose the white mini-blinds... get wood ones or red-brownish curtains......

I would like to have some place to put the "harder" drinks and a mixer for the wife. As it stands now, hers is in the kitchen and my beer glasses are in the kitchen freezer. What a pain having to walk ALL the way to the kitchen to get a frozen mug
(man... do I have problems or what?
) As for the animal motif. I'm not really an animal type of guy. Doesn't really fit my personality since I don't really hunt (though I guess you really don't have to hunt to enjoy them). About the only thing I get to do with any regularty is go fishing with my dad so a nice old rod & reel hanging on the wall would probably look good. Right now I have a bunch of old documents (mining certificates, maps, bottles, etc... from our yearly trips out west all pre 1900) hanging on the wall or ready for framing.
On a side note, I have dedicated one wall to my grandfather. I have hundreds of WWII pictures that he took in France, England, and Belgium that are waiting to be framed. After the war he and my Great Grandfather started a auto machine shop and he worked until he was 72. Nobody I know could build an engine like he could. He treated each and every customer with integrity which would explain why his business thrived. I learned many life lessons though him and this is just my way of keeping him around for me and my daughter once she is older. I kept a few old irreplaceable tools (micrometers that pre date the war etc...) and a brick from the old shop. Each will have a prominent position on "his" wall.
Though upon futher reflection.... Since my Grandfather never took a drink in his life (that I know of) maybe a "wall" in the "lounge" isn't such a good idea?

I snaped these pictures before I noticed that I didn't have my tap handle on the tap. I've got a tap handle display that I need to put out also.

well I'll come out from rock and say this, congratulations, t 7, you got yourself a "keeper"
then the last item would be a cord activated pull to a KL3A train horn mounted on the roof of the house, this way when you are sitting in your favorite chair you can pull the cord and let the whole neighbor hood know your favorite team just scored / won the game!!!!

Looks awesome so far. Since this is my dream and I don't own a house yet I'll make suggestions and live vicariously through the pictures...lol I think the following should definitely be on the walls:
The chocolate milk of beer...

British made big game rifle.

Every man's lounge needs a trophy or two.

The original tough guy himself.

I'm just linking to this one-you'll see why.

A couple large fish on nice mounts, some antique rods adn reels, that sort of thing for the walls. maybe an aquarioum as well.
And the BOSS looked at this and agrees with me that you also need to loose the chandileir and go to a dark wood ceiling fan, one that might match the blinds or floor. Much less teh "dining room" feel ....
I like the idea of having your Grand-dads stuff on one wall, you can pu some pictures of him and his shop up, and a display case or rack of the tool or stuff of his you want displayed. Tools are very "manly" and woud fit into your lounge area well.
A wet bar across one of the open sides of the room would give you a place to "hide" the keg-o-rater and also a small RV size fridge for your mugs and hard drinks, as well as serve as a "social spot" for the lounge and next room. It also "isolates" the lounge area visualy in to a seperate and distinct space.............
Hope this all helps..........
PS......the BOSS has a real good idea for design and color and most of this has been her ideas.....
stouts..
