Looking at buying an ATV
I'm in a wheelchair been in it for 22yrs. Started out with Honda 3 wheelers used to ride about 40 miles a day in the woods and mud. Can't afford a break down when your 20 miles from home and your by yourself and can't walk. Own a 1999 Honda 450 ES now wouldn't buy nothing but Honda cause I know they will bring me home everytime.
I personally own 2 ATV's 98 Polaris 500 sportsman. Only word to describe this machine is "tank". The other: 2002 Kawasaki 650 prairie. Wife drives this one, she's barely 5' and can handle it. Gobs of power, and handles nice too.
I like the tank, but I'm 6'2" 210, and its almost never failed me. Scared me one time, driving through a flooded road (lake) water up past the exhaust, wife yelling in my ear that if we get stuck...........Anyway, housing that covers the clutch and belt was leaking a bit, (bad gasket) and by the time I got out of the lake the belt was slipping enough to have to do some emergency draining.
Since that time, put new gasket in....and a removeable(yet sealed) plug on the bottom of the clutch/belt housing cover. Never had the problem since...
