Local tire/4x4 accessory shops - license to rip you off?
I know my B-I-L owned a diesel performance shop. He couldn't make a brick and mortar establishment compete with the internet. I use the internet also, just don't whine about the lack of CS over the internet. It can be impersonal and dry.
One of the problems I run into shopping on line is free shipping ain't free, to Alaska. Some companies even tack on fees as though we were a foreign country or something like Summit and PACT. Some companies insist that the only shipping method to Alaska is overnight or 2 day like JC Whitney and Parts Train. Sorry, I'll turn the rant off now.
Discount Tire has served me well over many years. As I travel around the states I have discovered that I can stop at any DT anywhere and once they have my phone, I am in. Never go to the same store twice.
Flat wheel? No problem sir, wheel it in and we will fix it AND balance it free of charge. Last trip my car developed a high speed vibration so took in to yet another DT. Once again, no problem sir, we will balance all four tires and no charge, Have a good day. 20 minutes in and out.
That is the type of customer service that keeps this customer coming back again and again.
