"Little" John Buttera passes

From NHRA.com

John Buttera, who left his stamp upon the drag racing world in the 1970s by building a series of winning Funny Cars and dragsters, created some of hot rodding's most beautiful street rods of the 1980s and 1990s, and built the first billet wheels, died March 2 after a long battle with cancer. He was 67.
.......................
Ironically, Buttera died just four hours after the passing of his longtime good friend and hot rodding contemporary Boyd Coddington, who died Feb. 27 of liver failure at age 63.

Another TRUE Car Guy gone.

Well that's tragic. Truly tragic.

Just yesterday I said "Hey dad, did ya hear Boyd Coddington died?"

"Who?"

Surprising that the guy who taught me everything I know about anything mechanical didn't know who Boyd Coddington was.

Man that's a real drag. I built all the Revell Funny car models as a kid and remember putting his decal on some of them. Two great car guys in one week and today I heard Jeff Healey died. Not a car guy that I know of but his name was "Healey". That's wierd. All will be missed. Condolences to all friends and families of these men.

Jeff Healey was the blind jazz/blues guitar player.

Amazing talent, amazing to see live. A great loss for the music world in general.

Some might remember him as the guitarist from the movie " roadhouse"
