Literally throwing money away?

Am I wrong to be jealous when a friend of mine (21 years old) who happens to have MUCH MUCH more money than myself goes out to gentlemans type club/bar for a few beers and they just literally throw money away. I'm talking like ripping dollar bills up into pieces and throwing the now useless confetti at the dancers and bartenders. Also he blatantly gives the money to these girls like its blank paper, and here I sit with empty pockets while he is just ripping it up because "its just money."

I try not to be jealous/envious of what others have, but to watch someone throw away what I would work for just makes me angry. I mean i almost cried when he took 5 $1 bills at once, made them into confetti and blew it at the bartenders as they walked by.

I'm just curious if anyone thinks I'm being selfish and jealous because I dont have money to throw away, or if its sickening to anyone else when people just don't care about the value of a dollar.

If I were you I sure wouldn't be jealous over that........kinda sounds like a moron to me!!! ( not trying to bash your friend ) It just sounds like the guy doesn't have much common sense........I mean WHY would you rip up money even if you had a lot of it??

I make GOOD money and I could afford to do that if I wanted to.........but why would I? I've never understood guys that just waste gobs of money at strip clubs......granted they can be somewhat fun on occasion, but to me it seems like those guys are just starving for girls attention since that can't get it on their own without throwing money at them.

I myself am embarrased to go to strip clubs, I feel like the biggest PERV walking into those places and is why I never go to them. And when I get drug along by friends, I can enjoy myself not spending a dime there.

But all I can say for you friend is.......he needs to wake up and smell reality......there may be a point in his life where he is going to need every single one of them dollar bills he shredded and kick himself for wasting his money like that!!

Don't be jealous......be thankful you have enough brains to spend your money in useful ways.

I agree with Gotlift01.

I, for one, am glad I don't have the money to rush out and buy whatever. I value the things in life I have to earn...my wife, soon to be family, education, career, tools...and so on.

Not to mention the fact that I enjoy getting my hands dirty, even though I could technically afford to pay someone to do the work.

We had a 'friend' after high school who worked at his father's store. We thought (ok, somewhat innocently) that daddy was giving him money. He got his money from other means .

He too, spent money like it was water! He never respected what he had because he never earned it!

Enjoy and appreciate what you earn in life....because it is all yours!

Tony

Sounds like a good guy to take to the Gold Club if you ask me!

More money than sense, common problem with the younger guys.

I don't consider someone who doesn't want to "throw away" money anything other than a WISE man!

You know what they say about a fool and his money? I have seen more than one parted with his money, even when they were all the while thinking they had nothing to be concerned about. I'm not wishing ill on you buddy, just saying (to me) it doesn't sound like there is much to be jealous of...........

Ever heard the saying Money+Drugs = Women? It is true for the dancer, trailer park type, but a good women? They could care less about foolishness like that.

well, i for one dont feel like a perv going in there, granted it happens about once every 5 years, but embarressed? nope, not me.

he is spending his money by throwing it around, you have spent yours on building a nice truck with alot of bombs on it. where is the difference other than you still have something to show for it the next morning?

Ripping up the money would'nt that be destruction of government property? It's been many moons since I was in a club like that and just giving the money away and then sobering up the next day and finding out what I used to have in my pocket was gone......

I agree wholeheartily with you GetBlown5.9. Actually, me and my roommate were just talking about one of our friends who wanted me and him to buy her a purse for her birthday that cost over $50. That, to me and him, is just redicilous(sp?). To us, that is materialistic, she could do the same thing with a $10 purse, like my girlfriend has. Me and him both work for our money, all mine goes to my truck payment, his goes to real estate on the beach, so we dont have too much money to be throwing around. Anyhow, I bought her 2-$2 shirts from the bookstore, and told her it was the thought that counts, not the price.

Tell your buddy to quit throwing away money, and start giving it to you, that might fix him real quick

Everyone has their own ways of entertainment. Shredding $5, who cares.. its only $5.

Id shred a few $10 bills if it made me feel good.

Strippers? Yeah, its fun. It costs money. Embarassed to be there? They know why you are there.. to see some goodies. No need to be embarassed about admiring the female body.. Unless theres something youre not telling us about your orientation... is there?

Anyways, back to the topic.. its only money.

Id be willing to bet you throw away more money on your truck than he shreds or gives to strippers (who are probably feeding kids with that money!).

Now, are you going to support the kids, or are you going to pollute our kids air?
hehe

Maybe I'm the only one who would jump out and grab the shreds tell my 'firend' later spend a half hour taping together and then put some fuel in the truck.... ok maybe not... a thought though!

Don't be jealous of THAT behaviour... You need to hang around a different "buddy"... Those kind of people tend to attract undesireable "game"...

We had a co-worker similar to that.. He drove EVERYONE crazy (coworkers=captive audience)always mouthing off and showing off to everyone just how much money he had, and how he could throw $$$ away like that... (He DID have it too!)
Great! but he had ZERO family life, his pride&joy Son on drugs and now rotting in prison, No "real" friends... Just those insincere low-life opportunists that followed the $$$...

Jealous? NO WAY!...

Why he stayed working out here was beyond us...
We were SO glad he retired this year and MOVED AWAY,.. FAR-FAR AWAY!!!

My recommendation is that you stop going to these "gentlemen" clubs with your friend and do something more productive with your time. To call such a place a gentleman's club is a joke in itself. No true gentleman would ever step foot in such an establishment.

That being said, the answer to your question is that it's HIS money. If he wants to be foolish and throw it away then that is his problem. In my opinion that's nothing to be jealous of. Just be a good steward with the money that YOU have and don't worry about your friend's foolishness.

This is gonna hurt, agreeing with him on two things the same day!!

Yeah, I see no reason to go to a bar when I don't drink, and have no intention to "pick up women" from a bar...not that I'm opposed to women or anything

The only reason I'll go to a bar is to pick up a buddy who is in no shape to drive!
