Angry listen to this

I had a nice lady at a gas station here in utah.....wont say which station tell...... me this yesterday when I fill up......I was talking to her and she mentioned that gas was high I said yeah but its sad that diesel is higher than midgrade and about to catch up to premium......she replyed that their gasoline was cheaper than competitors because they sell it for .02 cheaper than they buy it for and get this......MARK DIESEL UP TO PAY THE DIFFERENCE......
I was dumbfounded and felt like that wasnt fair at all....she said more people drive gas vehicles and they were trying to save the consumer a few bucks...........needless to say I think this is price gouging......I wont buy diesel anywhere the prices are screwed like this......has anyone else heard of gas stations doing this? BTW I aint from Utah im a TEXAN stationed here.....

Hunh!!

I'd avoid THAT station, and any others with diesel higher than mid-grade gas.

Not so sure thats illegal in your area, but you might put a bug in the attorney generals ear about gouging the diesel customer. Nothing wrong with selling gass at a loss if you chose.

I don't think this problem is limited to one station but rather is country wide. The refiners/distributors are jacking the price of diesel to bring down the price of gas since there are so many more consumers/complainers.
This why the price of diesel has became close to the diesel price in the last year or so.

considering the fact that diesel is easier to produce, this eludes me when it gets to be more than the gas, up here the diesel is 2.49 a gallon, with 30 gallon tank, it is not fun going to the gas station to fuel up at all.

It is illegal to sell fuel (gas or diesel) below cost in Minnesota, but there is no limit to what they can mark it up (what a great state!). For the first time that I can remember, diesel is currently almost $.30 LESS than gas right now. I'm sure it will catch up, just trying to enjoy it while I can.

I remember when diesel was $.99/gallon. Now it's $1.64. Same price as regular.

Hey Grampa BigBlue, tell us again how you had to walk barefoot 5 miles to school uphill both ways in the snow.

Actually I paid $.93 a gallon in Tennesee only a couple months ago. Seems like when ya get below Nashville, fuel gets cheap. So do alot of other things, like cigarettes, beer, and hotel rooms! kinda made me wanna move down there untill I found out that they just take it out on the residents with property tax.

Supersonic, were you buying farm diesel? It'd be a shame to get caught by the feds if they dip your tank!

We just hit 2 bucks here for regular unleaded, Diesel was 1.65, but they raised it up to 1.72. It's like they knew I had to fill up today...
