Life question

When your partner is not "in love" with you anymore, how do you get it back? I am asking some of the older people here with long term relationships, are you still "in love" with your partner over the years, or does it fizzle out to just love?

Tough question I know, but suggestions are welcome.

im not to familar with a type of relationship invloving "partners" so ill try to give it a shot...

life can take a toll on relationships...kids(not sure if applicable...depending on state laws), work, money, extended family etc, but i believe the "new" wears off of a relationship sooner or later. the key is to maintain similar interest and not to forgot to do the little things. sometime some flowers out of the blue goes along ways or taking "them" out to a nice dinner or weekend getaway for some quality time.

when i see 80 y/o's walking down the street holding hands, i want to go ask them what there secret is...i think thats awesome

After being together for a long time Billy Grahams wife (I don't remember her name) was asked. Have you ever thought of divorce? She replied, no but I have thought of murder. If you are meant for each other you will and can get over the humps. The make up is as good as it gets. I am sure you know what I mean.

Anything new would be help to start over again. Renewing vows, taking a trip^^^, and showing in every way that you are enjoying her presence and being. I'm young and haven't been married, but have had a tough (judgemental) life. The current love of my life, I love her more and more each time I think of her, and I strive to continue. When you look at the other aspect of your life, think about things that you may have done that you could do better now and work on it. Just keep your chin up and aim for what you want to have in your future. In some cases you can't make a heart love somebody, even after time.

I have figgured out that my wife is a reflection of me sort of like looking in a mirror and seeing what I have created that is assuming that there is no outside influence, only her and I. Sometimes I dont appreciate my wife enough and it took me a long time to realize that so its been going on for a while now and I cant fix it over night. In my wifes case it is lots of little things rather than one occurance ease back into doing the things that you did when you met what used to make her feel special. She will initially think you are just trying to get into her britches but will see with your undying effort that it is much more. And you think that her approval of and desire for you is worth fighting for. In my case it is selfishness on my part that puts distance between us. which I can only assume would eventually lead to a long talk that would end with I love you but Im not in love with you. When I dont treat my wife the way she should be it hurts her feelings and she acts different towards me which hurts my feelings and I act like a jerk further hurting her feelings and so on and so forth you get the picture. Some one has to draw the line and say enough is enough and start fresh doing all the things that made her fall in love with you in the first place.
