Anyone see this fight. I read that Liddell lost. Was interested in hearing some colorful commentary.

 

first 2 minutes knock out... chuck went down with one hit to the head then 2 or 3 mor punches on the ground and he went limp. very dissapointing fight.

dang........really wanted to catch that fight.

 

I'm very disappointed. I can't stand Rampage Jackson. Not because of his fighting skills (which apparently are very good), but because he's such a trash talker. Liddell didn't trash talk that much that's why I liked him. Give the other fighter some props for stepping in the ring and standing toe to toe. I can't wait for someone to knock Rampage on his butt. Any trash talker in any sport won't get any respect from me.

 

Got to remember alot of Rampages trash talk is tongue in cheek. Thats the beauty of it...half the time he's literally just laughing under his breath and trying to keep a straight face!

I love it when he said he was looking for a sparring coach could only "pay in foodstamps"

 

Jackson is actually a very nice guy. They dont show all his comentary, and cut it up to suit their needs. They have tried to make it look like he is a "bad guy" but he isnt. Comedian yes.....trash talker no, when he gets in the ring, he is all fighter though.

 

my buddy was at the fight and stayed in MGM Grand...said he saw Liddell walking around the casino by himself on friday night and was able to speak to him. said he was really well spoken and just an average joe (well, average beyond the fighting side of things )

 

Chuck has a degree from cornell univ. I think as a CPA.

I think it was a fairly lucky shot but Liddell got owned nonetheless. I dont think Liddel looked as cut as he normally does. Maybe not as much training as was needed?

 

Far from a lucky shot. Liddel had been looking for a right hand in the head for a long time. Just watch his fights he was guilty of holding his hands to low. Nothing against Liddel, just a fact of fighting hold your hands up.

 

"Fairly Lucky" It was just a moment of Weakness and it cost him.

 

Liddell does have a degree (CPA) from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. After the fight he said he made a mistake and got what he deserved. Rampage just caught him at the right time. Liddell swung and missed and left himself wide open.
