I just went on the Flying J site and since yesterday quite a few of their fuel stops are having supply issues too. Some are out of fuel.

Ouch. Saw that http://www.sltrib.com/ci_11288757 . Sounds like the price going up worked out good for them but the rapid drop killed em.

They are always the lowest diesel in my area and only a few miles away. I hope this does not mess that up!!

Yup. I just read that a little bit ago. Glad they will continue operating. Hopefully they get it straightened out.

Wow, filing chapter 11, no government involvement? Not laying off a single employee? The people who run the flying J must not be of this planet if they can handle a situation like that. Hope it works out for them, at least their admitting the problem huh?

Maybe the decline in prices caused it....but I doubt it. They run through so much diesel in a day, that they are right on top of the prices. And when it can go up 12 cents in a day and come down 2 cents in 2 days it doesn't add up. Why are all fuel companies not filing for bankruptcy?

Maybe Flying J management needs to be assigned to the Ford, GM and Chrysler problem resolution boards. They recognize there is a problem, determine a course of action, and move on!

No asking/pleading for taxpayer dollars to solve their mismanagement predicament.

What an unusual solution!

^^^^ Because its not their fault. No one is responsible or at fault anymore. We even have "no fault" insurance up here...

According to the second article they used barrels of oil as coliderial on a loan when it was $145 a barrel then when it dropped the had to write all of that off and the companies holding the loan called it.
