I'm glad my truck is parked in my garage.

The only problem is, I'll have to go de-ice the ramp leading up to the garage before I leave in the morning or else I won't get out. With only a couple of inches on each side, I can't afford to slip and slide out the door.

Wish mine was. At what temperature does diesel gel at with no additive? Never thought I'd ask that question.

You know, I hadn't even thought of that. I don't even know if they use a winter blend down here since it doesn't normally get this cold. Hmmmm....

See. And yall thought I spent all my time on this board for no reason. I made Hoss remember about a very important issue with these trucks in the winter time. My life is now complete. I can die happy.

Your fuel should be fine.... you could put some kerosene in it if you wanted... that will lower the gel point..... I have the ice on the heater cord all the time. just keep a torch nearby and it melts right off.... the ice is tricky if you dont know how to drive on it.... once you get used to it, the ice isnt that bad, its just watching out for the people that dont know how to drive on it...

Could be worse for you Blue, Its 0* degrees with snow here right now and i live only a 15 miles off the shore of lake michigan. I haven't been able to wash and wax my truck for a week or two now because it's been so **** cold. It's all salty right now and looks neglected.

Yall can keep that weather. I miss my 100* and 100% humidity. All of our humidity has turned to ice at the moment. It's kinda cool though, my entire truck is frozen over with almost a 1/4" sheet of ice except the hood. It's nothing but water droplets. Gotta love them block heaters.

I bet now he's regretting not haveing installed tubeing in the bedliner for in-floor heat.

Just remember guys, slow way down before your turn and use 4wd to pull you through it under acceleration... or don't they sell 4wd down there?

Don't need no stinkin' 4WD.

The funny thing down here is that when the roads DO get bad like this you normally see more 4WD vehicles in the ditch than you do 2WD vehicles. People think that just because they have 4WD they can cruise along at their normal speeds and be just fine.

4WD will help get you moving, but it sure ain't gonna help you stop.

Unusual? you don't know what unusual is. Its 8 stinking degrees out side my house this morning with about 1-2in's of precip on the ground. It's supposed to be cold in Dec. but not like this. And my poor truck had to stay outside all night with my dog I feel so bad for both of them. Well off to work

It is no different here. People think that 4wd will help on the ice. IT DOESN'T. I only use 4wd in the heavy snow. It is always bad the first couple of icy days around here. Tons of accidents because people don't want to slow down. Just take it slow and give yourself a little extra time and take it easy on the go pedal.

Yup, preaching to the choir here...

And it teaks more breaking in 4wd to stop the front axle from turning, especially with a Cummins in the equasion.

Cool. Never seen that before.

My other gripe down here when it gets icy is bridges. Everyone will be cruising along just fine at 35-40 mph and then all of the sudden the car in front of you will see a bridge they are about to cross and SLAM on their brakes like the bridge is going to jump up and get them or something.

You see more accidents here from people being stupid about bridges than you do any other reason. All you have to do is let off the pedal a little bit and you'll gently roll right over that bridge without any problems. Even I know this and I've never lived anywhere but Texas.
