L.L.L.'s again

I'm sure a lot of the people on this forum are irked by Left Lane Loafers. Georgia is pondering a bill to make it illegal to dawdle in the left lane if you aren't passing someone. Go Georgia!!!!!

Louisiana did it at the turn of the year.

No traveling in the left lane unless overtaking another vehicle, or the flow of traffic demands it.

We already have the law, but they still do it. People don't think it's enforced, but it is, just not always as easy as some think.

I know Texas has that law in some areas. I have not seen it enforced yet though.

Illinois has the same law and has had it for years. They do enforce it too. Mainly because the state needs the money. They also have a lwa that if the wipers are going, the headlights need to be on. I was going to work once and I had a '98 Crown Victoria that had been a Sheriffs unit. I had painted the brown and tan over with a black paint job and it looked pretty decent. I got behind a truck from Illinois and they were dawdling in the left lane in the rain with no lights. As I pulled up, they got over and turn on their lights really quick. Now, Indiana DOES have a law that says you can't have a unique police paint scheme on your vehicle. I see a lot of dealers selling old Sheriffs inuts that are still brown and tan. You can have one that is brown OR tan, or one that is black OR white, but not both. It's not really strictly enforced but it is enforced. It took me about a month to get the money and parts together to change the color of my car. I was reminded several times by the deputies around here.

Just another law for the people not to obey. CA you run the risk of death by road rage if you stay in the left lane and not driving 80 mph. If you stay in the right lane people merging think they have the right of way and merge in your lane doing 40mph when the speed limit is 65mph. I always stay in the middle lane and drive 70mph. I burn less gas that way and do fewer lane changes.

when I first started driving in Houston, I stayed in the #2 lane. Now, Im all over the place. #2 if Im looking for an exit, left two or three lanes depending on flow when I have a ways to go.

I think most places have relaxed on requiring the auction cars to be repainted. Our color blus is patented, and they were always required to paint the car prior to sale, but they've been driving trooper cars without repainting for years now.

When I lived in the sticks in VA, you could flash your lights and the guy you were overtaking would move out of the way (usually). Out here in CA, you get the finger or they'll give you a "brake test".

Out in TX most TX drivers will move over as the road signs state. Most CA drivers ignore the signs. My B-I-L was stationed in CA for a number of years.........he is as bad as anyone.
