Just a day at the beach!
Took the wife and kids to the beach today. First time in months that I've had the truck in 4-wheel drive! Wanted to take some video of me doing some doughnuts and rolling some coal, but there were just enough people along the beach, that I thought I'd better not, and not set some tree huggers off! Anyway, got alot of "thumbs up" for driving down the beach with the "Stars & Stripes" flying from the the bed!

Good pictures! That looks like the same beach I got stung by a Portuguese Man o' War in 1974. Do they still have them around there?
I wish I was as fine, as those who work the pipeline!

Awwww I miss being able to drive up to the beach. Hope yall had fun!
Bob hall?
I haven't taken this truck out to the sand yet. I keep saying I'm going to get a beach sticker but I never do. BTW, I don't see a sticker on your truck! The summers I felt lazy I would go park out on the beach anyway with out one. If the beach patrol saw it they'd stop and ask and I could by one from them right there and stick it on. If they didn't come out that day, well, then I didn't buy one

Bob Hall??? You referring to Bob Hall pier??? I saw a guy hall in a massive shark down there when I was a kid. 1969 I believe.
Do they require beach stickers in Corpus/Padre Isl.?
We have a place in Port Bolivar and they require them on most of the beaches around there.

Stickers use to be $10. I use to go to Mustang beach but they got gestapo about stickers and the trashy riff raff got bad and annoying. So I migrated a few miles south to Bob Hall Pier to get some peace and quiet. If you keep going south only 4wds can go. You'll eventually hit the north end of Padre Island National Seashore park.
Oh, a few times I have gone to North Shore and it's been nice and quiet. The beach was pretty clean too. I think they've been trying to clean up that area around it so it isn't ash trashy and hobo-ish as it use to be. Can't drive on it, you must park. I kept my head on a swivel and a folder tucked with me in my towel, just in case

Here's from the glory days
I always take the last beach access road, just before the entrance to the National Seashore, and then drive back up a mile or two. Not as many people, like at Bob Hall Pier. And yes, you do need a sticker, but I've never been checked, at least not up close. I do have one, and I think they only glance at them to see if you have one. Can't remember if they are $12 or $14? This has been the first time I've been to the beach in a long while, without someone asking me to pull thier car out, after getting themselves stuck in the sand!
