Jeep Question
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the input.
While I was at home this trip, about 3 days before Christmas the front drive axle on my Explorer finally gave out 220,000mi.
My daughter was driving it home in the snow. She parked it and called me on the cell phone. My son and I went and picked it up and I drove it home in 2wd. I wasn't able to get the Cherokee Sport that I had asked about last summer. Explorer not worth spending any money on. Soooo.... I spent a few days trying to find something before I came back to work. I drove a really ragged out 4-runner that they wanted $3,000 for with 175,000 miles on it
. Then I decided for the money I'd better stick with Jeeps. Drove several Cherokee's and Grand Cherokee's, finally bought a very clean 93 Grand Cherokee Limited from a lady with 120,000mi on it. Few minor things like the radio didn't work but otherwise seems to be in really good shape.
She had the vehicle for 5 years and seemed to have taken pretty good care of it. It has the 4.0
and an auto
. It's a nicer model than I wanted but for the price ($3,000) it was as cheap or cheaper than any others I looked at, and seemd to be the best deal. The kids like it too.
One bad thing, insurance about $300 a year higher than the Explorer.
Oh Well, thanks again to everyone for the advice. I hope that all the positive feedback went for the Grand as well as the Cherokee. This is the first Jeep I've owned since 1983. I was a CJ5 man back then.

Since getting rid of my girlfriends frdbronco2 we have a Jeep Cherokee to replace it.Sold the bronco and less then a week later it caught fire. She loves the Jeep due to the fact that the ride is better then the ford as well as the 4x4 system.I belive the differnt in the grand and others is the options.I drive a Grand Wagoner 83 with 125k on it her Jeep is a 91 with 150k.Most of what you see up here in my neck of the woods is Jeep of one model or anouther.Hope you have good luck with yours. We are hoping to get a Liberty with diesel this year.
Maybe by the time this one gets worn out, there will be some good used diesel Liberty's on the market. I'm thinking 5 or 6+ years here. I think they sound like a great little 4X4 that's easy on fuel.
I guess I need to change my sig.

My parents got one during some years. It was a jeep grand cheroke laredo with a same year of. It was a gas model (I think). And it worked well. My parents were so glad about the car that when changed, bought a newest grand cherokee model (a Diesel one).
They selled the car by 12000 euros (moreless 14000 dollars), and had no problems to find a buyer. You can see one picture in my gallery.
