I miss mine that for 15yrs, I sold it a while back. I had a lot of fun in it, went on many trails, rolled a few time but it was a good old jeep. CJ7 with a 360 4 barrel, built turbo 400 trans, locker all around. Now I want another one.

Sigh....

I sold my '84 CJ7 last year. Keeping up with the job, wife and 2 kids meant it was almost never used. I figured it was better to sell it and let someone enjoy it rather than leaving it to rust in my back yard.

I see it on the road every couple weeks. Feels kinda' like seeing an old girlfriend (one of the fondly remembered ones that is).

I'll get another some day - maybe when the current Rubicons are showing some age and prices get a little more reasonable......

I still have my 91 YJ, although it is far from stock now.

It only gets to see the trail about 5-6 times a year now, but it's not worth selling it, because I could never get out of it what I have put into it.

It's worth keeping it just for the fun factor.

I had a Jeep Comanchee pickup. I only paid $100 for it and drove it daily for 3 years. Had the strait 6 with ablut 100 oil leaks. Every winter the injectors would leak at the orings. I could change them all out in about 15 minutes. I don't miss it. It was a good little truck though. Traded it in on what I have now. I'm alot better off with what I have.

Here's mine,

It was a 85 CJ-7 but now it's mostly mutt.
Chevy 350, NP435 trans, Dana 300 with LoMax 4-1 gear, Dana 44's front and rear, ARB 4.56 front, Spool 4.56 rear. 36" Swampers, Warn winch and most importantly i built everything on it myself. I'm always working on it. Just finished the tube fenders but no pics yet. Also a member of Baltimore 4 Wheelers.

I had a 79 CJ7 when I was in the service. Only vehicle I have ever driven with a full top that would let a rain drop in to hit you in the eye. The jeep was OK, I'm guessing I miss being 19 more!

Htrex4 .... thanks, I needed that .

I had an 85 CJ7 that I did a lot of work to. Ended up trading it for a POS Bronco ... gave that one to my son but he would rather have had the jeep.

I miss four wheeling in it ... they are pretty awesome machines in the hills. Drove it from Missouri to California in the middle of winter and needless to say it was a very loooooong trip.

Now that I have the FJ I think I have a great compromise. Great off-road and comfy as a DD.

Cheers,
PISTOL

Wife and I are shopping for a YJ. We have our little supercharged Buick Regal for sale and I think a friend of mine is going to buy it. We are wanting a hardtop 4.0 with A/C that I will probably convert to a 3.9 Cummins later. I like the TJ's better but the YJ's are a little cheaper to buy.

I used to have an 04 wrangler x with a 4in lift and 33's man I loved that thing for offroading but I didnt care for it at all as a daily driver. I drank gas and was cold as hell in the winter. Plus I sunk it up to the top of the shift in a river a few years back. It never ran right after that. Huh I wonder why?????

Here are some pics of my two "ex-girlfriends". I haven't seen the black 1972 CJ5 in years. She was a beast! Cammed and massaged 304 with headers and "hollow" glass packs. I think the guy that bought her, just wanted her for the winch. She was a blast to drive my senior year of high school.

The red 83 CJ5 had a sleeper in-line six. Wasn't fast, but made a ton of torque for it's size. Drove her to Georgia and back, in January. That was a fun trip through mountains! I used to see her all the time after I sold her. This kid had bothered me for a long time about when I was going to sell her. He was a good kid, who worked hard. Let's just say he got a good deal.

I keep telling my son we'll get another one. Maybe a TJ.
