Already selling for cheaper then it started. I think its going to be free in about a year from now because something new and shinier is already out by then. What do you guys think? Free with contract in a year?

I hate these new cellphones. I miss the old days where you were on a reliable analog network with a phone that had some power to reach out and touch someone. It's exactly that, a phone. Why has voice communications gone down the ladder so far that it's just a mere formality to consider when manufacturing a PHONE?

So they can sell bling, texting, data tranfer time, and other non voice services to teenagers and teenager wannabes.

I don't like 'em already. I'm an IT solutions provider, and one of clients (the owner) bought one and asked us to get it working with email and all of that. Took my network engineer 3 phone calls to Apple and two different visits to finally get it working after firmware updates and empty promises. Apple and MS have never gotten along well, but I can tell you if you want this thing to talk to an Exchange server, it doesn't like to! Personal may be okay, don't talk a business into it.

Been using mine for years and love it.

Its extremely versatile.
Ive used it to keep my truck from rolling away when I park on steep hills.
I use to break down doors when I forget my keys.
I use it for counter ballast when mowing on steep grades...

Thats why I think its going to be selling for so cheap so soon. The network is basically up and running, it doesn't cost AT&T much to keep it running. Not 80 bucks a phone a month thats for sure. If they gave it away now it would make them money in the first year.

I actually have a bet going that it will be free with a contract sometime before one year from now.

Two reasons, one its not selling that well (like someone said) and two, something better with more hype will be available in 3-5 months and kill the sales even more. Dont know what that new gadget is but I cant see it being longer then that.

I used to run the ringtones and games website for a major us cellphone carrier by contract so to speak. I was the ops director of a company who's software was the "engine" that drove this thing. It was a very large us carrier. That site made over 1.5 million dollars PER DAY selling ringtones and games. Can you guess what the demographics were? I'm not going to say, but you can guess.

My bet is teens, and middle aged women that think it's cute to have there cell phone sing them and the rest of the freakin' office a song when someone calls them in the middle of the workday!

Can you tell I get irritated when the three women at work get calls on there cell phone...if they would reach down, and hit the button on the side to mute the ring, I would be happy...but no, they let the thing play 3 or 4 times, and then it goes to voicemail, and that thing beeps at them for 2 hours!

Any of the PDAs with ATT/Cingular can be ordered without a camera, just have to find a store that will order it for ya. I am sure other carriers have the same deal.
