I'm now consciously driving less, anyone else?
I started commuting the wifes mazda this week now that the snows gone. She is using the truck to haul the kids to school hopefully a tank lasts her 2 weeks or it will be all she wrote for the dodge. I speciffically told her to minimize driving, and we have been staying home on the weekends.
Last time I went snow machining it was 120.00 to the truck and 75.00 to the sleds

Well, I'm still driving an excess of 110 miles per day; got to work. My daily weekday and weekend driving habits haven't changed, except that I'm on the "mileage" level more often. My fuel bill is up $160 to $200 extra for the month. So I do find myself cutting back on other expense's to help balance out better. I did rent a Honda Civic to go to Vegas this weekend. Cost of the rental AND fuel was about what I would have paid for just fuel in my truck.
I pretty much drive the same amount I always have because my commute is pretty much my commute regardless of the price of gas. However, when we begin to look for my wife a new car around the end of this year we are going to give serious thought to some type of hybrid.
As smart as we are you would think that we'd be able to see some correlation between "record gas prices" and "record profit margins of oil companies"...and you'd also think that we'd be smart enough to figure out a better way to skin the cat than internal combustion engines. When I was a kid everyone thought we'd be the Jetsons by now. It's a bit ridiculous that we're using such antiquated technology as our primary means of transportation. We should be smarter than that.

Out in vaca in Palm Springs Cali... I thought my $4 a gal was bad back home...
Passed a station out here for $5.23 a gal!! And people were filling up there as well!!! Crazy!!
Truck is only driven to circulate things around once a week or if towing... Occasional DTR get together... Otherwise it is the Jetta!!

I'm actually getting the bicycle out - it needs a tuneup pretty bad - but for running to the store for a couple of items, or over to the Quickie Mart for something, or whatever - just so long as it's 5 miles or less and it's not raining or snowing - I think the bike is the ticket.
Besides - I need the exercise.

Last fill here, on saturday afternoon, was $1.339 a litre, and its gone up since then. so $5.06 / US gallon. Not bad huh.
We've had $1+ per litre for a long time now, back in 01 - 02 we were at 71 - 75 cents/litre. but that is as low as its been in years.
Highest thus far, was a little further north of here a couple years ago, $1.489/litre at the pump. $5.63/US gallon. This is the cost of doing business. We don't have to like it, but we do have to live with it.
