I'm melting!!!

It finally got into the 70's here in Anchorage! I think it was actually 72 or something. And it's supposed to be in the 70's again today.

I can't wait to get outta here! Still moving to Florida in October.

It was nice and cool today out on the farm. I'd guess low 90's or high 80's. Hope it stays that way. Spending the night in freeport tomorrow.

I'm also interested to know what part of Fl. you are moving to. Just open all your doors and trailer, when you get near Tennesee. That way you don't bring any cold weather down with you.

We're thinking about the Tampa Bay area. I have an Air Force friend who lives in Navarre also...maybe you live next to him!

Heck, we don't put on winter jackets till 20*...sweatshirt weather in the 30's. When I first came to AK in August I froze my butt off in the 60* weather because I came straight from Mississippi. Now it's gonna be the opposite when we move down south...heck, October in Florida is like summer in AK.

Welder27, TAKE THIS HEAT WITH YOU!!!!!! ... 9:30 P.M. right now and the temp in the house is 76*! If this is another summer like last year I swear I will die of heat stroke! Anything 60* and under is FINE BY ME!

I think Navarre is up in the panhandle by Eglin AFB. Ft Walton Beach area, a long way from Tampa Bay. Just thought you would like to know.

Yeah, it's been pretty hot in the interior part of AK...82 in Talkeetna...80 something in Fairbanks...they said McGrath had 83 and thunderstorms.

I was working in the Valley this weekend and could tell the temp difference in the 40 miles from Anchorage.

When I was in Anchorage last Summer (Last week of June, First week of July) it hit like 84 deg, almost a record I think. Most of the time it was near 65-75, pretty comfortable.

When we were Salmon fishing it was closer to 55-60 and the mosquito's were terrible. The fishing made up for it though, would love to go back when I can afford it.

Well it's been in the high 90's and windy but it's doing the garden good. the corn is about 3' high and the squash is coming in strong. Went right from winter to summer two weeks ago we were in the low 40's at night.

I'll miss some things about Alaska...but what I'm looking forward to is: 1) having a variety of roads to choose from to drive to the next town 2) bigger variety of jobs 3) more vacation spots I can drive to 4) having 4 seasons instead of 2 5) and not having to wait 2-3 weeks for something to get delivered from the Lower 48.
