If for defense the 9mm ammo is cheaper but the .40 performance is better. I guess you could shot them 5 times with the 9 rather than 2 times with the .40 Quantity is not the same as quality so making pratice and real life count makes better quality.

Ball ammo aside the troops want larger calibers in rifle and pistol, so just like the big block crowd "there is no replacement for displacement" meaning displacing a large chunk of the bad guy.

I just prefer black, I mean if your concealing it whose gonna see it anyways. IMO the OD and tan are for guys that are gonna wear it on their hip with their BDU's or something. Just my .02, I like the black. While we're on the topic of concealed guns, have you taken a look at the Springfield V10 Ultra Compact? Thats what Im gonna buy in the next week or so. I really like the compact 1911.

XD40 all the way. Has plenty of punch, and shoots flawlessly. I'm looking at this or the 45 GAP.

Talking .40 cal!!!

.40 cal all the way! I prefer black, but wish I could also have a tan and OD. But black would the first choice. I prefer the .40 for the better stopping power over 9mm with about the same capacity.

On the other hand, when it all hits the fan, I would rather have a 9mm or a truck load of .40 cal stored up because ammo will be at a premium. Everybody and there dog has a 9mm. so ammo will be easy to come by in most situations. With more police and federal agencies using .40 they are coming up in the world. But I would have a 9mm as aback up, something cheap, for civilized society, and concealed carry I recommend the .40!!

That’s my .02

D-C out!

I haven't looked at the v10 ultra compact. I have fondled a few sub compact XDs at the gun shop and really like the feel. That is what I think I want at the moment.

Like you said, the color doesn't matter, I threw in the other colors because all my guns are black with the exception of my shotgun that got the furniture painted tan today.
