I like the sound it makes when it lands.

If 1lb powder launches a 40 lb anvil that high, you could probably send a cat to the next state and a shrew to the moon.

I like it.

That looks fun but I couldn't get away with that where I live, every time there is an explosion around here someone calls the cops.

I would be afraid I might hit a low flying airplane.

Oh c'mon! What's gonna happen? I mean, Wile E. Coyote gets anvils dropped on his head all the time and nothing happens to him. They ain't gonna hurt a plane!

Sweet. Now I have an idea next time I'm at a family 4th f July party, "I saw this on the internet once...". It should go over pretty well, especially since my family burned down the grass lot next to theirs a couple 4ths ago and the FD had to come out.

Then one of the FD trucks got caught in the fire because they parked it in the wrong place

When I first moved to Isanti in 1970, the volunteer fire department was like Keystone Cops. They usually got all their equipment stuck immediately at a grass fire, then laid under it and defended it with their water.

How times change. Isanti is now the top volunteer FD in the state. Chief Polzin, who was the engineer in the first stuck truck most of the time back then, is now president of the MN fire chief's association. Our department is the most well trained and certified department in the stat, bar none, including paid city depts. It's all still volunteer, including the wrenching. They just bought and put in top shape a 110' aerial ladder truck for about 50G.
