Come on, that's not too bad... My family company uses more than that in a month. Let's see, 3 vehicles, (I'll count the bikes as 1) 365 days... thats only $4.6 a day per vehicle. You spend more than that on fat kid pills...

$5k is not bad at all... thats only $100 a week.. especially since youre counting multiple vehicles in there.

Im just shy of $100 a week (bout 80) on one vehicle.

My place of employment spent $54000 last year, all in diesel. There are 3 vehicles that are driven.

I dont think that is bad. I averaged about $2000 last year and I was out of town for 4 months.
Thats not including the $10 and $20 per week my daughter puts in my Trooper
or the $100/month my wife puts in her Xterra.

I know a operations manager at a landfill that said they went through $2.8 million in diesel fuel alone last year. But big numbers are expected for big buisnesses.

Let's face it though, $5000 is still alot for PERSONAL use, for most of us anyway.

We averaged about 24,000 gallons of diesel a day on just the trucks, that is not counting small vehicles, support equipment, dozers, loaders, etc. Just haul trucks.

Yea, $5K/year is a good chunk for personal vehicles that aren't reimbursed or a business expense.

That is also a good indicator of TOC.

we drive the CTD as a DD, it gets a tank of gas every two weeks
(ever other friday is PayDay, and local grocery store has 3 cents off on Friday)

but my 06 only gets ~17, so that is 470~500 miles (500 is fuel lite on) in 2 weeks.

we put ~35k miles on the 06 in a year.

my folks live 4 hours north, daughter is 4 hours south,
buddy in Raliegh (sanford)
if we go, pretty much, that is a fill up on Friday for a weekend trip,
then a fill up on monday to replace the fuel used, so you can make it the next 2 weeks.

we ain't afraid to ride the roads, but still, thats puts a damper on the enjoyment.

me & the wife ride together to work.
the one car gets drove once a month, just to make sure it don't set up.
the bikes don't get much use.

so if only one vehicle in my house is going to work, and it's 15 miles each way,

imagine how much you are spending if BOTH you and the wife are driving to work?
