I put the Blues on once again
An old friend past on last week. He was a fighter pilot from WWII for the NAVY. I spent 6 years of my life in the Air Force and have a great appreciation for those who came before me. I happen to be in active reserves and the family at 8 this morning asked if I could dress in blues and present a flag to the widow. At first I thought this was short notice and I couldn't pull it off. The respect I have for LCMDR James Rusell Morgenson changed my mind. I shaved off a 2" long beard and made by blues ready in a moments notice. I talked to men who flew with him in Guadal Canal and so on. I snapped it out in perfect facing movments and presented the flag. I kept my bearing while evryone else cried...but now I'm home and the tears flow........Thank a veteran next chance you have, who knows when you might have the chance again.
