I need to know what you know....
I had a 1999 Ram 1500, 5.9 L V-8, 4wd, Reg Cab Longbed with an auto transmission that got horrible gas mileage and was at times doggy. Of course I had a 3" lift and 33" tires...
If you have your heart set on a CTD, you'll never be happy with that gasser. I loved my 1500 until I drove a brand spanking new 2002 CTD.... I crunched numbers and calculated payments for 2.5 years until I finally bit the bullet and bought my CTD.

That 5 miles is a guess , but it isn't very far , it is uphill most of the way though,
i will be making a trip home on weekends ,3-4 times a month , 110 kms each way , and tooling around town at night , which is probably going to be most of my driving
.
I hate gas engines with a passion none of you would beleive
and here i sit actually considering buying one...
