I Need a bluetooth headset. Any suggestions???

Hey all.

I originally grabbed a Motorola HK201, didn't have any choice really. It's dying so I need a new one. Worked pretty well for a while and had good distance. I prefer not to talk at a desk, and tend to walk around during conference There are like 300 gazillion out there now. Ughhhh. I have an iphone, not sure if that matters. I am generally in pretty noisy environments on location, and of course grumbling down the road. I saw the new apple bluetooth but it is getting pretty bad reviews, so I think it is out.

Any of you had good enough luck to make any suggestions.

Oh ya, I am not really pretty to begin with but a laptop, a boom mic and a real of cord strapped to the side of my head is not real appealing to me. Although some (Blake) may say the distraction would be appreciated. I figure MOST of you have not ever steered me wrong, and MOST of you are trustworthy. OF course MOST of you are not pipe liners (AKA fake roughnecks). So give it up peoples...

Thanks in advance...

Been pretty happy with my two-year-old Plantronics 925, the earlier version of this one:

http://www.plantronics.com/us/product/discovery-925

***Correction...975. My bad. It comes with a case that will recharge the Bluetooth up to three times before you plug the case, Bluetooth and all, into the charger. I usually only have to recharge the assembly once a month or so and my commute is about 75 minutes each way plus travel time between service calls. The ear tips take a little getting used to but once you find the right one the unit works well.

X2 on the Plantronics.......I bought the Voyager model because the reviews said it had the best sound quality in the business......they have excellent CS too. I washed mine and it quit taking a charge. I asked if I could buy a battery for it.....they sent me a new unit at no charge.

Don't mean to butt in here, but thanks for the reviews.
I've used a variety of headsets over the years, from Plantronics to Motorola.

The best I ever used wasa Motorola unit for clarity and comfort.

I need a new one, and I think I'm going to give this Plantronics a shot

Jawbones continually get rated the best. Yes, they are a little pricey but you won't be disappointed.

I used an earlier version of this one:

http://www.overstock.com/Electronics...rd}&adtype=pla

Loved it!
Worked great, sound quality was good, and noise cancelling was excellent!
It was also the most comfortable of any I've ever had.

It was about $130.00 retail at the time.
The newer versions appear to have come down in price, and you can find them on line even cheaper.

I've used Motorolla products in LE all my career.
Overall, well worth the investment IMO.

I have a Jawbone Icon. It works well and is very comfortable. I use it quite often in the truck and it cuts out most all of the background noise so that the other parties on the call don't hear the Cummins roaring down the road.

I have it set to pair with both my iPhone and my laptop for use with my corporate IP Phone.

I have the Jawbone Icon, it really does a nice job, can do multiple phones which is a plus for me, office phone and cell phone are always ringing and I can answer both of them with the same unit . . has downloadable software too, so you can customize it for your needs.

I bought the Jawbone II for mama, and I've got the Plantronics Voyager Pro. If you're more interested in style, get the Jawbone. If you're more interested in exceptional sound quality, ease of wearing, and long battery life, get the Plantronics.

Both are better than anything offered even a few short years ago, but the Plantronics is just a better device for folks who have to actually hear and be heard while using a headset.
