Let's not forget that George W. is not alone on this. He has a team, foremost being Colin Powell, that has exhausted it's options. I think it's time to let Powell finish what probably should have been done ten years ago. We'll see tonight at 8:00pm eastern what lies in store for the next few days. I'm thinking 48-72 hours gives Saddam enough time to leave Iraq and for the Security Council to have their Wednesday morning meeting. I don't think I would want to be hanging out in Bagdad on Thursday night. Just my prediction. Enough is enough.

I think she was selling out America for a little foreign financial support. Apparently she wasn't aware that for the most part ... England is very supportive of our position. <br><br> We all make mistakes and occasionally say things that we later regret... it's a part of being young and inexperienced. <br> Hopefully her Daddy will pull her along side and &quot;school&quot; her on how to tactfully disagree without looking like an a$$.<br><br> Most of us aren't in a position to have millions of people hear it and analyze what we say like she is. PistolWhipt made the most salient point. When we were young and said stupid things, we didn't have the ears of millions of people listening and reading what we said. Regardless of her age, she has a responsibility to consider the impact of her public speech. We can let her know that we disagree with her opinion by exercising our option to not add to her already inflated income. I believe that that is the best way to let her know that there are millions of Americans who don't believe that avioding war at all costs is not always the best option. If we could ask former British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, with his &quot;peace in our time&quot; policy of appeasement with Hitler, I'm sure that he would agree with us<br><br>DeWain

 

Ok, fine, they are young and said something stupid, hopefully they will grow up and wise up, but, i dont think that our country has room for people that are not, at-least, supportive of our administration and troops, they dont have to agree, but dont go out and talk about your family behing their back. that is, in my opinion, beyond a mistake by a young ignorant person. just my opinion, &quot;if you dont love, it leave it&quot;

 

As an old soldier, I support their right to say whatever they want to. A lot of folks have died to ensure that they (and everyone else in this country) can exercise their freedom of speech. Having said that, however, I think that Ms. Maines (I think that is her name) displayed very poor judgement by voicing her uninformed and emotional opinion in a foreign country. Europe is very anti-war at this moment, and I would imagine that the Dixie Chicks got a big standing ovation after she shot her mouth off. It would be interesting to see what reaction they would have gotten if they said the same thing in, say, San Antonio. <br><br>Everyone that I have talked with around here have said that they will be boycotting any Dixie Chick CD's, etc. That includes me. <br><br>I, for one, am proud that President Bush is a Texan. I hate war as much as anybody, and have seen more of &quot;man's inhumanity to man&quot; than most, but the time has come for us to either put up or shut up. I think that the UN has chosen to shut up <br><br>I'm a little old for the old cloak-and-dagger games that I used to get to play, but the thought of our men and women bravely going off to battle gets the old blood a-pumping again...
