Speaking of which, did you hear that the new Powerjoke trucks, in addition to the "help grandpa up" grab stick in the tailgate, have heated tailgates? It's so your hands don't get cold when you're pushing them in the winter.

Seriously, most hypermilers are in little subcompacts driving at frustratingly slow speeds in the middle lane (so they don't have to touch the brakes when encountering a car at an on-ramp). Or they're pulse-and-gliding, accelerating to 60 and then kicking it to neutral and shutting the car off and allowing the car to coast back down to "almost stopped" before starting and accelerating again. Over and over. They are people who strip the interior, leaving only the driver's seat in the car to save weight. They take off rearview mirrors, antennae, windshield wipers, molding, anything to eliminate drag. They make grill blockoff plates and wheel well covers- front and back- to make their cars slippery. They spend money on Honda VX wheels because they're lighter and air up their tires until they ring like champagne flutes. They disconnect power-robbing accessories like the fan, the alternator and the daytime running lights to reduce the load on the engine.

Aside from their frustrating driving habits, I wish everyone went as far to conserve fuel. I, unfortunately, don't have the self control for extended miserly driving... but I do admire those who do.

ya know... that explains alot.

However the vehicles I see doing it would probably not effect my fuel mileage if I just towed their car and that would keep them out of my way.

Im gonna stay with my nice consistant speed at 65 to 75 (altho some of my best fuel mileage was at about 80)

I don't know about towing them, but I have wanted to push them down the road with my truck a few times.

I can see maybe getting behind a semi trailer (and NOT right on its butt either, safe enough for reaction time to brake) but everything else is down right dangerous.

But, the gene pool does not cleaning so let them be.
